So what are your guys opinions...I'm pretty terrible at math and the hard sciences but I am awesome at english, history, and the social sciences.
I'm thinking Philosophy, Sociology, or Political Science...and maybe a minor in econ or Buisness admin...International relations sounds interesting too.
is that an all black university?

Eh, I'm in my third year and don't really know what the fuck I'm doing. I'm on for psychology but I don't know if I want to go clinical/grad school with it. I love it, which is why I'm studying it, but whatever. I'll figure out my career at some point.
It's your first year. Take a bunch of classes in different fields, you'll find something.

I am leaning towards a philosophy degree although sociology is really a big interest of mine as well. Maybe Gozen can comment on that.
Ultimately it doesn't matter. Unless you go into science, law or medicine, your major won't mean shit, and you're degree only slightly more than shit. When you get out you'll still find yourself with a lot of work to do to get the experience you need.

The serious answer is don't ask us. We don't know you in and out or what you like. Secondly, there is absolutely no reason or rush to pick your major the first year unless you are absolutely sure you know what you want to study, which by the sounds of it is not the case. Get some general ed out of the way and take some classes that sound interest. I wasted a year and a half because I realized I wanted nothing to do with my biology major and had taken more science credits then I ever needed and hardly anything else. Also, like others have said, what you major in may not even have anything with what you do later in life.Quote:

I'm currently in a philosophy class right now and out kinda makes me want to blow my brains out so i have no idea why law is so intriguing to me but it's more that I'd like to teach or write about law rather than be a lawyer per se, so I'm still sorta floundering around deciding what i want to be when I grow up.
