This is a pretty interesting article I found about why guys nowadays can't grow up. I thought it was interesting, and it's something I've seen in my own life with my friends.

I come across so many people who seem to have some weird sense of entitlement. Maybe it was the way I was raised, but what the fuck ever happened to hard work? Taking a job, regardless of how shitty it is, and working hard anyway at it. Sounds stupid, but hard work really does pay off better than walking around with a sense of entitlement and a college degree.

On the other hand, if I look at my grandfather and even my father, they accomplished more than what I've currently done in my life up to this point. My grandfather fought in a war, opened up his own business, married my grandmother and had their first kid all before he was 26. Maybe it was just a different time though.

I dunno. Discuss?

Grow up, jerks. Parents need to force their kids to get jobs at 14 or earlier.

Actually this pheomenom has been noted in my legal course of wills, trusts and estates. Pretty much people used to depend on inheriting their father's firm, practice or job. Nowadays with people living longer most people don't rely on inheritance to stabilize their life situation since most people are well off or at least stable by the time their parents die.

I've said it before many times. My wife and I live with my mom because we choose to not because we have to. There's half a house doing nothing and my mom's great - and she's not gonna' be around forever...

My mom has made the same argument to me moving back in.

But then i would have to go from a 5-10 minute drive everywhere I go every day, to a 3h round trip, daily.

I was just about to post this article.

It's a fucking shame but it's completely true. The Maxim magazine crowd is the biggest detriment to society. Couple that with the thugs and the indie fags, the terrorists have fucking won.

I always think back to Fight Club and Tyler Durden and how we're a generation of men raised by women.

I wouldn't even say that, its a generation of boys not allowed to become men. Since when does anyone 30 get promoted beyond low/mid management. A 30 year old is not leading shit outside of the military.

Basically we're looking at a time where the old people stick around, and the climb up in the world is delayed simply because of stagnation. And lets not get into the infantalization of teenagers.

Well shit just look at the music they listen to.

A friend of mine that's older than me was doing exactly that until about 5-6 months ago when he finally realized how stupid it was to tell girls, "Hey, want to go back to my mom's house?" It's funny because he's still mentally a teenager in a lot of ways and has no idea how to deal with other people or take care of himself in a lot of ways, and we've been "training" him to live in the real world and it's been pretty weird.

He had a job but didn't like it, so when it was suggested to him that he find another job and then quit that one he instead quit his job and had absolutely nothing lined up. He then started doing things like turning down jobs because of stuff like he didn't like the hours or he wanted to go out to hang out with friends and shit like that. At one point he told a job to hold off their starting date for him so that he could go camping for a week, and naturally the position wasn't there by the time he got back.

We're having a hard time figuring out why he thinks he's so special and so above other people when it comes to finding a job despite that he's getting to the point where his leftover money can't cover gas or food (let alone rent and bills for the last couple months), but it's been pretty special/sad/funny.
