Betts is out ... so Alexander is his replacement till Betts returns.
Also, Biff is kinda right the Cowboys do need a corner.
It's not exactly a secret that the Cowboys need a corner. They've been trying to fill that position ever since Deion retired. Once Safety Roy Williams gets back on the field, it'll help that situation and Newman will be back by mid November.
Let's look back at the Giants Superbowl run last season. They pretty much had no cornerbacks and filled the position with second string safeties. If the Giants could cover up that weakness, why does Dallas have such a hard time with it?
Probably because your coach needs a ton of help.
I agree, I don't get what's going on either. They have more defensive talent than anybody in the game, but can't seem to shut down the opponent.
Then again, it could be chemistry, and you just brought in another headcase, damn I feel sorry for philips.

If I'm his agent, I'm calling cincy right now, if that falls through I'm calling Ricky Williams to see if I can get him in the dope game.
It's the play calling. This defense could operate very much like the Chargers defense did before Merriman went down. Stewart doesn't utilize the inside blitz, often puts Ellis into coverage and puts the secondary into a lot of zone coverage.
The Giants pretty much blitzed the Redskins (in week one) on every play, be it run or pass. The offensive woes of the Redskins that day, was more about the defensive pressure the Giants put on Campbell and the running game, than about the Redskins ability to move the ball. Yet, Stewart doesn't utilize what the Giants did to the Redskins, and sticks with his very vanilla defense.
When Dallas was finding ways to shut down Kurt Warner and company, they did so behind a pressure oriented defensive scheme and abandoned the zone coverage.
The Cowboys defense has been relying on the bend don't break philosophy, but that only works if your offense is clicking on every drive. There's only so many long drives a defense can take and when the offense isn't giving them a good breather, bend don't break will break down.
Well it's interesting but there are reports that Romo is going to try and play through the splint he'll be wearing. Apparently the call he received from Farve was telling him to do that, and they're going to try it out today at practice.
