When the ball is on the ground and you pick it up and throw it. Its an illegal forward pass. You have to run it at that point.

Nope, doesn't matter if the ball hits the ground it can still be thrown so long as it hasn't passed the line of scrimmage at any point. They also said they called the penalty because it was an unusual throwing motion, which doesn't mean anything, there's nothing wrong with that play, there was even a receiver within 5 yards of the ball when it was thrown.
It was a blown call that ended up costing Green Bay the game.
so, wrong call, right result, because if that isn't intentional grounding then i don't know what isQuote:

That rule only applies if the passer is within the tackle box, if he's out of it, the passer can do whatever the fuck he wants to do. I didn't see the game, so if the QB was outside the tackle box, this rule does not apply. Refs have made some pretty shitty calls this year, so it would surprise me if this was a blown call.
I take it that pass didn't cross the line?
the problem is that it's a shitty subjective rule, but basically being out of the pocket weighs against a penalty but not reaching the line weighs for it. there was a receiver like 5 yards away but it's not even like he lofted a catchable pass - he flung it underhand and it stayed low.
This QB must have had the worst game ever for any starting QB that actually won the game by 10+ points.
12.3 QB rating, 72 yards, 4 INT's, 1 TD, and 7/27 passing. Holy shit.
