If you check their front page, you'll see that GOG is giving Sega a run for its money with the world's most unsubtle hint about the next games coming to the service. It's clearly Little Big Adventure.
YAY! I never got the second one of those, and will happily pick up both. :D

I love those games so much, YAY
Never played that series! God I love adventure games.
Maybe now I'll actually play through them. I only had the demos back in the day and then when I tried to make one of them work years later it never worked right with whatever version of Windows I had.
They're not really adventure games in the classic PC game sense of the word. They're closer to Zelda and Landstalker. But with tank controls.
Despite being a weird mix of dark and kiddie, and having the worst voice acting known to man regardless of which language you play in, the Twinsen/LBA games are fan-fucking-tastic and everyone should play them.
So I played Little Big Adventure for an hour or two and I must be missing something. First of all, you're absolutely right about the voice acting. But I can overlook that stuff!
I figured that the control complaints were just due to shitty early 3D controls. While that's definitely true, I didn't expect that action stuff would be so important. There are TONS of horrible aggressive dudes all over the place, many of which have instakill attacks that are impossible to dodge. ..which wouldn't be so bad if dying didn't mean that you had to replay that horrible prison section over and over again. If nothing else, it caused me to figure out the crazy save system so that I could just reload a profile instead of going back through the prison.
So I got to Twinsen's house only to get knocked out by yet another homing instakill bullet and that's where I stopped.
Please tell me that it gets better. Please tell me that there are areas where you're free to walk around without having to worry about patrolling guards and indestructible death-bears or whatever they are. Please tell me that I'm using the Holomap thing incorrectly because it's almost impossible to get useful information out of it in spite of what the game is suggesting.
Sounds horrible.
I'm there!
You can save, you know! Although the save system is sorta bad if I remember.
There are definitely larger areas where you can explore more freely. The early parts of the game are heavy on the stealth elements, but the whole game isn't like that. You have to do a lot of sneaking and a lot of ambushing. You also get more powerful as the game goes on and enemies become easier to deal with. It's been too long for me to give real specific gameplay advice, but the game is not hard, there's a way to deal with everything.
Stick with it.
