Yeah it definitely reminded me of the first, horrible Alone in the Dark.

Yeah it definitely reminded me of the first, horrible Alone in the Dark.
I thought this was common knowledge. The original Alone in the Dark 1 team left Infogrames to form Adeline, and then they later got bought by Sega and renamed No Cliche, where they made Toy Commander.
The save system is indeed ridiculous. I haven't actually played it in years so I couldn't remember the details, but yeah, it's wacky. I can't remember if they fixed this in the sequel (which I don't think I ever finished... maybe it's time?)
IIRC, LBAWin lets you turn that off.
There are so many good games on GOG yet you idiots insist on playing C-list junk.
lol, you know how we do
BTWBTWBTW, GOG is running a 50% off sale on Atari's games. There's some good to great stuff in there:
The Witcher 1
Blood
<3 Master of Magic <3
<3 Master of Orion 1+2 <3
Roller Coaster Tycoon 1+2
Outcast
Also Commandos, Desperados and Independence War. I haven't played those before so I can't say if they hold up today.
And if you want to get in on the masochism, there's always Alone in the Dark.
Another sale: 50% off nearly everything in the catalog: http://www.gog.com/en/page/xmas11
(the Activision games are listed separately and they're only on sale until Dec 26th while everything else lasts until Jan 2nd)
You can also get Empire Earth Gold for free: http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/empir...h_gold_edition
Empire Earth is SO BAD. I'd rather pay money to play a good RTS.
