FIFA 09

The game is coming out October 14.

A few quick highlights from the Gamespot preview:

It's cool to see these ideas finally taking off in sports games.

The developers said their goal for the future is to have an online "world cup" mode that will pick the best players from each country and put them together on a team for the tournament.

This year's game is just sort of establishing a framework for larger player loads in online sports games.

I hope Konami would make a good Pro Evo on PS3/360. I still prefer their game even though FIFA was better last year.

Yeah, I've always wanted to see something like this happen in sports games. But I don't think that the games will really have much lasting appeal unless they implement some RPG-like aspects if each player is only controlling one character.

This one is $47.99 at Target this week.

Word of mouth has made it out to be the runner-up sports GOTY behind NHL '09.

After the disaster that was this year's basketball/football games, I am ready to give it a shot.

I know Mom's Box has it (not a joke, that's the name of one the Buffalo Gears dudes who doesn't post here), so that at least makes two of us to play with.

Looks like I'll be waiting until the 21st, actually.

That's when it goes down to $37.99 at Best Buy.

It would be funny if this year was actually good, because this is the first year we've consistently sold Pro Evolution and Fifa has been rotting on the shelves.

FIFA is doing huge in Europe.

I hear they're on 19 there.

I like Pro Evo, but it is getting too complicated to learn all the moves and just not worth the time investment.
