Sons of Anarchy

Anyone else catch FXs' new show? It's on Wednesdays at 10pm (in HD too!) and I'm really into it after 2 shows. Ron Perlman, Katey Segal and Drea de Matteo are the big names.

It centers around Jackson "Jax" Taylor who is in his late 20's, just had a kid and is in the Sons of Anarchy. This biker gang was started by his late father and controls a large portion of the gun trade and other underhanded dealings in the county. Ron Perlman runs the gang, he took over when Jaxs' father was killed and is now dating Jaxs' mother (played by Segal). While going through his fathers stuff, Jax finds his memoirs that had been long forgotten by anyone. In it, Jax reads of his fathers original intent for the SoA and it makes him start to question what the family is now doing to keep the power it has. He's being groomed to take over the SoA by Perlman and his mother begins to worry that Jax is going to go soft and lose what it takes to keep the family going.

In typical FX fashion, the show pushes the boundries. It's a brutal show, lots of violence, cursing and what's shaping up to be a great story. It's something you'd expect to see on HBO and is my new favorite show.

I watch it, it's pretty good

and peg bundy is still pretty hot even if she's in the role of psycho bitch bike gang string puller

Watched the premiere and liked it a lot, but missed last weeks episode. Need to catch up.

Last weeks episode was intense, I'm psyched for tonight.

And last nights episode continues the awesome trend.

I didn't think it was going to happen and it did. With a great blackmail-in-the-back-pocket coup for the Sons to boot. Great acting all around in this show.

I just saw an ad for this. Doesn't initially seem like something I'd care about but I <3 Ron Perlman.

Any idea when reruns are on or should I just get to downloading?

Check your local listings :). It'd probably be a lot easier to catch up by downloading. Better yet, Hulu has the first 2 episodes.

Finally caught the rest of this week's episode. Why did Jax stop at the Mayan's bar and kick over the bikes to stir up shit? Is it to rebel against the patchover and Bobby pulling him aside to put him on notice that the club notices he's starting to rebel against Clay or did I miss something else in the episode?

Was that before or after they saw him driving down the highway?

After. It's what Jax does and then brings the Mayan's chasing him back to the Riders bar where they have the big shootout at the end of the episode.

I guess it was just get the odds in his favor. Instead of risking getting jumped later, he'd lure them into a trap.

Probably the weakest episode so far, but the payoffs were good. Next week look like the main plot is going to go into overdrive again.

Caught the end of this episode, Peggy Bundy straight 2 pieces a bitch with a skateboard, awesome show it seems.

Real solid episode! I like the story with the boxer kid and his potential old wife in training. I'd really like to know the full story behind Lowell Sr. being killed and it ruled seeing Jax drop that FBI fucker like a champ. The FBI broad is hardcore, she knows that FBI dude is a nutter but still went to task on Lowell Jr trying to get him to rat on the club.

Good episode last night. One thing though The whole ex-husband/bf whatever and the doctor near rape scene that ended with Jax killing the freak and them fucking was just weird

However, still on of the better shows out there. Stealing an ambulance, lol.

Last nights show was awesome, probably the best of the season so far.

ahaha I finally got around to watching the latest episode

all aboard the train to creepyville in that last 15-20 minutes

The last two episodes have been great. The wicked witch of the ATF got her face smashed in when her plan didn't work and now she's completely insane. Setting Opie up as rat is straight up evil. Great plan though...I'm anxious to see how this shakes out.

I had that initial reaction to Opie's mom too, but I can only imagine the shit she's been dragged through to turn her into that. Tig is a freaking maniac.

too much 'poignant' crap with the musical overlay and pulling away from jax in the graveyard, not enough jax beating the shit out of people. an hour and a half, they couldn't have more violence?

Na, after the last few episodes I noticed that the show creators are in love with the "musical overlay" for big things at the end just like they did on the Shield. They need to get over that and get more headcracking involved. Tig got off easy.

Considering the extra time I was expecting more, but it was still good. Easy to call for blood in the streets but I think they made some wise choices.

Henry Rollins is cast as a new character, he's scheduled for 6 episodes. The new season is set to start filming next month.

I'm not sure if I'd like this show...is there an undercurrent of justice and righteous retribution (in a Punisher sort of way), or is it just bad people doing bad things and getting away with it? I'd watch the first few episodes, but the payoff of comeuppance is usually later in a series and if it's not there I'll pass.

They don't all get arrested in the second episode, no.

also, Rollins=fail. He's a terrible actor and not in an enjoyable way.

The new season started last night and it was a good one! Henry Rollins is a white supremist and he is not a nice person.

Good to have the show back, the season preview looks really promising.

I just realized that the dude that plays Jax is Lloyd from Undeclared.

Good season opener. Rollins isn't going to live very long at this rate.

Seems like an awfully drastic step to make to try and get a biker gang to do what you want. Like wtf would you think the response from the club would be? A smile and nod while they step aside?

I've been wanting to check this out and finally got around around to watching the first 2 episodes of the new season on Hulu. I've got season 1 in my netlfix cue, so I'm gonna watch all of the first season before I go back to watching any of the second. I definately liked what I saw though.

It's been a really good season so far. Bummer that Young Cop is making some poor decisions in the eyes of Sam Crow.

This show is damn cool. Even more cool cus it takes place not far from where I grew up in San Jose and not far from where I live now even. It's true there is a hell of a lot of biker gangs around here like the show portrays. Actually 5 years ago I lived right smack accross the street from a true-blue Hells Angels member. He had no muffler on his bike and holy shit was it loud. :) Dude was scary as hell looking too. Big hairy white guy who never said "hi" when he saw you. :P

I' halfway through the first season by way of Netflix right now and loving it. Gonna run through the last 2 discs tomorrow.

Seems redundant at this point, but last nights show was great too. The tension is off the charts at this point, one of my favorite characters got hurt last night and it looks like all out war is going to happen next week.

Naw he's totally dead, not just hurt. See that huge pool of blood under his head? I know in the preview it was said "They tried to kill 2 of us now" but I'm almost 100% positive that Irish scar face guy is very dead now. I could be wrong.

But ya awesome episode. This show kicks ass. Next week looks to be friggen spectacular.

I missed last weeks episode, so I caught it on hulu and then this weeks episode back to back. God this show just keeps getting better and better. I don't want to hate Clay, but damn is he making not hard to.

The last episode was intense, to say the least. The mistrust between Clay and Jax is just making problems worse and they don't even know it. I guess the fingerless masturbator didn't get out? I totally thought that character was a one and done from last season.

This season has been really, really good.

I have a feeling he got out. I think they would have shown his burnt corpse, but they maybe saving that for the next episode. Maybe he'll be a link to bring the club back together by telling them that the league killed darby and how much of a threat they are. I dunno, but I love it.

Another great episode, but I have to say I didn't like Jax saying he's going Nomad. I mean, I know they won't have him do that. However just a few minutes earlier he's ready to take a bullet for his "cut," then suddenly he wants a transfer? Lame.

Other than that I'm really enjoying how this show has been developing.

Are you talking about when Jax called Clay out on his bluff in the meeting? He had every right and means to put Clay in his place and he did. He shut him down and got to keep the porn revenue stream going. Clay tried to pull a Czar move by saying no one had a say in the matter but himself, even though it was a shared source of income for the club. But now that Jax thinks Clay burned it down, he's thinking that whatever he does, Clay is just going to undermine him no matter what. If Clay isn't going to "follow the rules" of the club he wants no part of it. Makes sense.

I understand everything that's going on. I just think that quip at the end was an unnecessary attempt at a cheap cliffhanger. This show is better than that.

Good shit this week, the Sons are hopefully pulling things together now. It's been week after week of getting dismantled but now it looks like they can get a new source of income with the ammo and shrooms from the reservation (testing the shrooms was pretty funny).

Gemma has finally admitted what really happened, so now it looks like it could bond Jax and Clay together and get the Sons back into cracking the right skulls.

Hell yeah dude! The next episode is gonna totally rock. I don't there's a possibility that Jax and Clay will be able to contain the rage, so more than likely shit is going to explode in Charming next week. Can't wait.

No action last night, but the foundation of the club is coming together. While there was no bang bang action, there were some intense confrontations. I thought Opie was going to fuck up the ATF ladies world, but he held it together. I wasn't expecting all the secrets to come out and Opie is a bigger man than I thought.

Now that there aren't any secrets they can get over it and focus on getting the devil out of Charming. Heads will roll if they can push Henry Rollins onto Zoebell.

Yeah, not much action, but the setup of what it to come was great. Also, the secrets getting out was interesting. I can't believe Opie didn't kill Tigg. Even more, I can't believe Tigg told him. Can't wait till next ep.

Man they sure got alot done in that episode.

Awesome episode, plan went as well as it could. It was great to see Zoebell panic for once. Smart move on his part getting out with the drugs, let's see if they get him for good in the season finale.

FX has ordered a 13-episode third season for its biker hit "Sons of Anarchy".

Tuesday's 90-minute season two finale was cable's number-one program for the night, delivering 4.3 million total viewers and three million in the key 18-49 demographic, while it beat all three broadcast networks in the male half of that key demo.

Showrunner Kurt Sutter has signed on for a two year extension to his deal to continue in his role, while all series regulars are in place to return next season. The third season will premiere in September 2010.

Great news. I had no doubt that the show would see another season. Best show on television by far right now in my book.

Fuckin' awesome news. Though I didn't FX was still up in the air on whether or not they were gonna bring it back. This season has been fuckin' bangin'. Glad to see it's getting it's due.

Not really related, but anyone know when Rescue Me is coming back? That will help pass the time until next Sons season, if it does air before. Actually, the only reason I decided to actually check out Sons was because Rescue Me finished and I needed something else to watch on Tuesday nights. Just to clarify, I think Sons is sooo much better than Rescue Me.
