The peeps in the B-Lo are hunting for Lindy Ruff's head. The Sabres are almost out of it. Last nights lost amongst the recent others have sealed the fate for the Sabres unfortunately. This sucks. We need to string 3/4/5 games in a row but I don't think they can do it. Ugh.
So the best way I can equate the 551 and 552 games are to certain types of playoff games. 551 felt like a game 5 or game 6 where you have the ability to close out a team, but you have room for error. 552 felt more like a game 7, because the next game would be on the road, and Weekes may play, so it needed to be that night.
From a Devils perspective, and I am glad it got done as quickly as it did so that any potential "what is it like to take three tries to break the record" bullshit is averted from the vulture patrol.
Finally, STFU about Pittsburgh already, Cow. They have no goalie, no D, and their only toughness is on their first line, straight from the geriatric ward. The fact that they are climbing the standings is more telling about how much of a drop off there is from 3 to 4-10 than anything else. There are, at most, 5 teams that have a shot at the Cup, and the fucking Penguins, with Dude Looks Like a Lady as their Captain, aren't one of them.
Fleury backstopped the Penguins to the finals last year - which is better than your "money" goalie did or Lundqvist did. You can't just pretend he didn't and is insignificant.
Also, the Devils finishing first in the Atlantic has been meaningless for the last four years and acting, again, like the Devils are the greatest team in the world is unwarranted. They have a lot to prove.
In any event, I think the Cup stays in the West this year.

I give them the best chance in the East. That being said, I don't think it's 80% Devils and 20% for the other 7 teams. Too much can happen in a 7 game series.
I don't think I've ever seen an 80/20 team, but I'd take the Devils at even odds against the other 7 teams. In other words, the Devils 50% and everyone else combined at 50%.
