Disappointing.
The first ten minutes of the third featured some of the absolute best puck movement I've seen all YEAR by the Devils, with no result. Boston was all over everyone all game, tight-checking. Penalties hurt us again, but at least we didn't take that many.
Boo.
The two ridiculous bounces on the first two Boston power plays decided the game, which is unfortunate, given how well it was played.
How much rioting would go on in Montreal if Ottawa keeps this up (9-1) and knocks the Habs out of the playoffs? 100th Anniversary. LOL.
They're well on their way to missing, but from a Devils standpoint, I want them at either 7 or 8 depending on where the match up is.
So that was horrendous. Devils went, basically, 2 for 8 on the PP, which is pretty bad, but the 3 pp goals given up on 3 tries is horrendous.
Holik needs to be benched. End of story. He's useless in every situation and at least Pando can stay out of the box. That's the end of that.
Holik and Elias being out is obviously bad, especially for the PP, but that's two big losses in two big games in two straight nights against two competitive teams with good PP's, and both games were basically lost on the PK. Ask me if I'm pleased.
I'm not panicking obviously, but everyone needs to get healthy and get back to work on that PP. There isn't even an attempt at backdoor plays, it's all cycling to the slapshot by Langs or Rolston, and they don't take enough quality shots/not enough movement.
Still, the Devils had looks. Good looks.
Another bad outing for Marty. Fourth goal in was horrendous. 21 of 25? not good.
Huge game for the Predators tonight.
The Ducks have been inching closer to the Preds for the eighth playoff spot in the West and have a chance to overtake the Preds with a win in Nashville tonight.
Nashville has lost its last two games while the Ducks are on a 3-game winning streak and a 2-game streak against Nashville.
