I'd like to see a Metroidvania approach. Strider still has some of the most unique levels out there and it would be great to explore the world more.

I'd really rather not. Do it with another franchise, but if you're gonna bring Strider back, do it right. And for the love of god, don't let Backbone touch it.
I'm hoping it's more like Ultimate GNG, not Castlevania 64. For the love of God, leave it 2D.
Or go the Maximo route, not using the classic name.
I don't think Capcom has the designers or developers capable of making a Strider update that does justice to the original game (or Cannon Dancer). But it's nice that Capcom hasn't forgotten about the Strider IP.. I guess.
SHING!
SHING SHING SHING!
I wonder which Strider they would re-make - arcade or NES? I love'em both, but maybe a slight edge to the NES one. Strider 2 is still one of my favorite games as well. That game always gets overlooked in 2d gaming discussions (but it got all dem infinite continues remember?). Strider Hiryu is probably my favorite character design in all of gaming. More Strider? Yes please.
I liked Cannon Dancer way more than Strider 2, but I'm cautiously optimistic that Capcom can still do the original game justice.
I hope you guys questioning Capcom's ability don't buy any Japanese games, because they're about 500 miles ahead of anyone else over there.
No thanks at DMC. Keep it rooted in arcade design ideals or get it the fuck out.
