Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard

Matt Hazard is back! You may remember him from such games as "The Adventures of Matt in Hazard Land" and "Haz-Mat Carts", or maybe not.

Much like what Marvel Comics did with The Sentry, Vicious Cycle has created a fictional 80's video game franchise based on the Duke Nukem-like Matt Hazard. Just from what they've released so far, it looks to be a tongue-in-cheek tour through the fake history of this once great fictitious game series, poking fun at what seems to be every video game staple from the last 20+ years.

I really hope the gameplay matches the ambition in this title. And LOL if it arrives before Duke Nukem Forever.

that's clearly the most incredible game of 2009

The character design is a bit dull, not having half the personality of Duke, but the throwback style of the history web page is fantastic. I'd forgotten how much gratuitous animation used to clutter up pages back then. If they can match the gameplay to the sense of history this will be a lot of fun. Also, it needs Haz-Matt Carts as a bonus unlockable.

This thread reminds me I still need to check out Dead Head Fred from the same developer. It got some good reviews.

D3 should sponsor TIG or another development community to run an official contest to make these past games a reality, similar to the demake competition.

IT'S HAZARD TIME.

Anyone else playing this? I rented it and it's surprisingly not terrible. Pretty funny too. Will Arnett does good stuff.

The store I pre-ordered this at hasn't got it in yet.

What's the point of pre-ordering if they don't even get it in on time?
