Kind of an odd place to hear of it first.
BC my ass... You're gonna be paying at least $15 for this one.
I can only pray.
MvC2 is already BC in 360 (and obviously PS3 if you got the right model), but the emulation is terrible with lots of graphical slowdowns and glitches. If they fix the issues it would be great. If Guilty Gear can be emulated perfectly, I don't see why MvC2 cannot (aside from $$ and laziness).
also: CVS2 on XBLA = I could just kill a man.
I remember Capcom taking a poll on what game fans would like to see on xbla/psn when Bionic Commando Rearmed was about to be released and MVC2 won by a landslide. I think Capcom is listening...and salivating on the moolah they will make on the game.
This is the one game (with good online play) that would tear me away from the WoW expansion. That says a lot.
I will be all over this if it hits PSN.
And Marvel likes these games and knows how popular these games are too, my guess is the wait is entirely due to work out the logisitics of the licence(s).
I think we'll see a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 eventually, although not necessarily as soon as we'll see a re-released MvC2.
This is some good new. Only hope it holds true.
That commentary better come preloaded into the new version.
Go to 2DF my son. http://2dfighter.com/default.aspx
It's worth noting for those that are concerned about the netcode that Capcom has inked a deal with the creator of GGPO for use on multiple licenses, and that this may be one of them. It's not definite but it is at least something that may help quell fears. I'm not really an MVC2 fan, but I can see myself being interested in this among friends this time around.
Wow...I almost have no reason to keep the Dreamcast around anymore.
Project Justice says otherwise.
PSN all they way baby that is till microsoft lets x arcade come out with an adapter for the 360
The X-Arcade? Pfft.
OMFG!!!! JOYSTICK SNOB! :D
No Doubt! where else you gonna find one joystick that works on almost any system now and in the future. No trying to be a dick. I want suggestions cause I'm looking for a good stick that will work on more than one system.
X-Arcade are notorious for having laggy adapters for some of the consoles (they're decent as PC sticks). You still have to swap out the clone joystick and buttons to get a good Happ/iL stick.
GoPodular are better as an all-purpose stick since they use the PCBs from licensed joysticks. There's also Arcade-in-a-Box if you want a PS3/360 combo stick.
Anyway, I'm assuming that this will come via XBL/PSN, and as for any other online fighting game, GGPO or GTFO. I hope Capcom is smart to use the GGPO license they recently acquired in MvC2. And screw the Xbox port. DC/Naomi version or GTFO.
Also,
Have you used the PS3/360 combo sticks? I'd like to hear how they are hands-on, I mean, I'm sure the craftsmanship is great but in terms of being lag-free and how the buttons map? They're on the pricy side but for a PS3/360 solution in one stick with no fuss, I'm more than willing to pay it.
Bleh... still not 100% confirmed, although more and more websites are reporting it. I hope this isn't a sick joke from Capcom. :bang:
I would like to hear impressions from this stick also.Quote:

Looks like that Hori Stick might pay off.
See, I'm not the only one who browses GAF here.
No, but you're the only one who thinks we care that you do.
combo stick review please!!!! If it does both platforms I am there
I don't have an Arcade-in-a-Box stick, but I do have a modded Virtua Stick High Grade stick that works on both 360 and PS3. The dual system mod performed on my stick should be similar to that of Arcade-in-a-Box's.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...e/vshg_mod.jpg
There are two PCBs in the stick, one that is a 360 Mad Catz Arcade Stick (the only 360 controllers at the time of this mod that had a common ground wire) and the other that is the PS3 VSHG. The switch you see on the side near the Sega logo determines which PCB is used. When connected to the PC, the stick is identified as a 360 stick or a PS3 stick depending on where the switch is set.
I don't remember. I bought a VSHG from NCSX before they sold out and had it shipped to the guy who would mod it. I think it came to around $200 with shipping charges. Here's the thread that discusses how to make one (assuming you can find a common ground 360 controller).
By the way, one of the guys (Toodles) who helped figure out how to make the dual system joystick work has made his own universal PCB (it doesn't work on 360, but you can piggyback a 360 common-ground PCB off of it). Here's the thread if you interested in the technical details.
I'm pretty sure this is what Arcade-in-a-Box is using for its dual-system joysticks, since Toodles consulted with the AIAB owner to make the joysticks work on the two systems via a switch.
A bit offtopic I had something similar like this from Lik Sang (could be play-asia also) for last gen, one arcade stick with like a switch hub to make it work on xbox-ps2 and it claimed to work for the gamecube also, but the latter didn't work, but it did work pretty good with ps2-xbox though. I need to check out play-asia see if they do have something in that direction for this gen also, if so any stick would work on that hub.
The AIAB stick actually uses a pre-Cthulhu PCB made by toodles that only does PS3/PC, I believe. The 360 pad wouldn't be piggybacked, but they would be connected like how akuma001 did your VSHG. It should be lagless for both systems in any case. The Cthulhu was made to be a UPCB Lite with less system support aimed for people that doesn't need all the bells and whistles of the UPCB at a lower price.
It took you two days to come up with that?
Well I slept with your wife.
Omg I got served. :(
Semi related, but saw this
Now some things seems be falling into places, going through that report.
In that long article putting a few things together and certain things starts to stand out the most, of course one of them is that EA seems to have lost the marvel license early 2008 (I was not aware of that) and now a few months later MvsC 2 appears on ESRB for ps3/x360. A few weeks ago in the interview at gamasutra Ono said he was interested in making MvsC 3, he also said Marvel really wanted that to happened. All these things put them together sure sounds like something interesting is forming at Capcom about a new Marvel vs Capcom game.
Capcom would be dumb putting it only one the wii....*gets scarred*
But no I don't recall any hints on a console yet (nor expecting one at this point), wii has a big userbase, but me thinks the true fighting fans are on ps3/x360. I'm sure capcom knows the game won't be selling in the millions so the big userbase won't be atractive or something to aim for.
This just me trying to be logical about it, capcom can't do that from time to time though.
Uhm Marvel vs Capcom 3 confirmed? That's the one (MvC3) I was referring to with all the speculations going around and what seems to be standing out in the article.
I seriously doubt it'll be getting any downgrades for the Wii. The game is running on an unnamed Wii-based arcade board.
In the beginning, a lot of people assumed it was running on the PS2-based System 246/256 due to the graphics. I forgot when (maybe during the AM Show), but a Capcom employee told people that the game is using Wii-based arcade architecture. If you want further proof, a recent Gamespot preview of the game during TGS also mentions it being on Wii hardware. System-16's listing of the game does say it's on Taito Type X2 so maybe you got that idea from there? Don't take their word for it because of the 4 games listed there, only SFIV is correct. Fate/Unlimited Codes and Sengoku Basara X are both System 246 games.
The listing is back on ESRB.
This is happening :o
OH!
OH!
OH!
OH!

He's so pringles?
Also: Earthbound has been on the ESRB site for 3 years.
It's all about Mango Sentinel.
P.S.: I know the player in that video. He's a Philly player. He always yells like that.
where's yo curley mustache
Yuck. SFIII and Garou please.
If a XBLA/PSN is imminent, I hope they add an optional Remixed mode. An HD facelift is too much to ask (considering how long STHD took), but I wouldn't mind some tweaks. I'm not asking for 100% rebalanced play, but there are a few things they can do to make some of the cast more competitive without totally nerfing the top-tiers.
I may have mentioned this a million years ago, but all they need to do to make me happy is to take the roster from MvC2 and give them all contextual backgrounds and BGM (like the first) and call it MvC3. I would buy 10 copies.
Sano from the SRK boards and I were going back and forth in regards to a fantasy MvC3 roster. This is what I came up after running with his Civil War idea.
Ryu/Cyclops
Captain Commando/Captain America
Mega Man (either original or X)/Iron Man
Red Whirlwind (Falcon after Power Stone transformation)/The Thing
Chun Li/Ms. Marvel (or Spider-Woman)
Morrigan/She-Hulk
Strider Hiryu/Wolverine
Viewtiful Joe/Spider-Man
Dante/Ghost Rider
Vanessa Z. Schneider (PN03)/Storm
M.Bison/Magneto
Nemesis/Venom
Jedah/Dr. Doom
Sigma/Ultron
10 heroes and 4 villains from each company. Non-playable bosses are Cyber-Akuma from MSHvsSF (sub-boss) and World War Hulk (final boss). Hire Steve McNiven to do the Vs. portraits. If I was forced to do 3D graphics, then I'd push for alternate costumes like Ultimate variants on Cap and Iron Man.
Why does Capcom keep ignoring CvsS 2 ? MvsC 2 is shit.
Rise of the Robots XBLA April '09
SHIT.
SHIT!
Yo Chuck, Iron Man wants another word with you.
PIT FIGHTER XBLAH APRIL OH NINE
BALLZ VS. CLAY FIGHTER PSN
I like the theme team achievements.
Also, Ramon is going to explode in his pants.
Now the question is when? They'll probably do another Summer of Arcade with this being part of it.
Garou is apparently coming, now we just need SFIII.
I wouldn't complain about CvS2 either.
I'm sure CvS2 will come after MvC2. I can see 3rd Strike getting the HD treatment, hopefully without the shitty art. Garou is awesome news as well. I'd still play on 2DF, but I get a weird error when I try to install the network program ever since I formatted. Anyone else have issues ?
I am very excited for this news. Marvel is a guilty pleasure. I absolutely love that game. I suspect all Capcom's good fighters will find their way to XBL/PSN at some point as will the SNK tops. Now let's just see how bad lag will be, that game has some serious insanity going on.
Never thought it would happen.
I need a joystick for serious now. I'm going to try and find one today.
So since the achievement list is out has a date been released?
