So, some Iraq Vets Against the War apparently tried to get into the last debate and brought a protest group with them. The cops were rather forceful and hurt a ton of people. Don't blame the Nassau cops, though. Most of them are absolutely worthless and haven't seen a confrontation scarier than pulling a teenager blasting Daddy Yankee in his daddy's 350z over and writing him a speeding ticket that Lenny Blakowitz will later loophole into the incinerator.

Isn't it great that New York isn't covered by national law, though? Also, did they really think they'd be let in?

Going to Iraq and fighting might make you more of a man than I'll ever be, but that doesn't mean you should get special treatment.
These guys were acting like a bunch of fucking morons with that shit. I'm glad he got arrested.

It's against UCMJ to protest in uniform.

Is that enforceable if they aren't active-duty, though?

I didn't check the video yet, but were they in full uniform (nametags, rank, everything)? Because if not, it's technically not a uniform. That's how some people stepped around it at the recent conventions.
That's not to say that I agree with them, but that they might have technically been in the right.

If you were in the military and are still pulling money from Uncle Sam (retirement, medical retirement, disability, etc.) because of that service, then yes, you're still subject to the UCMJ.

You'd think they know how to respect authority. Sure, cops are dumb sometimes, but when you push them and then get angry after they arrest you, you're kind of an idiot.

You do realize getting arrested is kind of a goal if you're protesting things, right? (well of course, YOU don't, you'd be calling the cops). Getting arrested is a badge of honor sort of thing. Underlines that you're srs bsns.
In a way, they did exactly what they set out to do. You see the third and fourth people getting arrested are basically putting their hands out for it.

Good to see my belief that protesters are posers is true.

It's all theater, so in a way you're right, actually.
