I'm not sure why raising the minimum wage bothers people.
Worse comes to worse and the conservatives are right. Who cares?

I think it's one of those issues where the right answer is probably somewhere in the middle. We're very likely below the equilibrium point (meaning the maximum value you can raise it to such that the resulting increase in consumer spending will offset increased costs to employers, beyond which it would hurt the economy as opponents claim) now, but $15 sounds like it could very well be past it. But I'm no expert.
I wouldn't know. I work in a place where union employees get paid 35 to 55 an hour to be bad at their jobs and sit on their ass.
(I'm not saying that is the norm for unions. So you can stop typing out your prounion manifesto)
