It's not like we had a choice between a white hat and a black hat and voted for the bad guy. They're both bad. Contrary to what the religious folks in my facebook feed seemed to think, I did not vote Clinton because I'm for babies at the 8 1/2 month term being ripped apart and pulled out of the mother's womb. It made me mad to have my values boiled down to one part of her platform, and it got me to vote when I had never done so before. That street goes both ways.

That's a big part of it. People really misjudge the role spite can play in an election.

Hell, spite is a key characteristic of rural America imo. Like biscuits and gravy. Rural america will take a punch to the face to see you take 2.

I also think the rigged feeling plays a part of it. It has felt rigged for like 30+ years. The other side always drags out a sack of shit and you feel forced to pick the lesser shit.

Maybe people finally had enough with Hilary and decided to deliberately vote in the bigger evil to tell the government "stop rigging this. Run your two best guys and let us pick. Stop forcing our hand"

Also, his speech last night was surprisingly...sedate and magnanimous. It felt like politics, sadly. He's spent two years attacking that nasty woman, and then thanks her for her service and was kind of flattering. I wouldn't want him to continue the bashing, but there are several positions on the meter between "she's the worst" and "she's the best."

At the end of the day he was a Democrat until this election and his work history is one where he does not make good on his promises and makes off with the cash.

We actually have more reason to beleive he won't do shit for 4 years and will spend the rest of his life surfing on the fame.

Also he loves fame. It was the real goal. He has to realize the best thing he can do to keep his fame is to actually do the job well or at least fuck nothing up.

So maybe he will be a typical manager and say pretty things while doing nothing so there is no fallout.

Really if he can just not fuck up for 4 years he is made and immortal. If he can just be bland and say nice things his memory will live forever.
