Woke up at the crack of 3:00am in order to pick up a friend and be at Circuit City by 4:30. Got in line which was probably 150 people long at 4:45. Store opened, we all rushed in and I was able to grab everything I wanted. Out of the store by 5:20.
Headed over to Best Buy. Again, it was quick and easy. My friend picked up a Wii. At check out, they added $30 because Geek Squad updated it. He fought with a manager about it, but they wouldn't remove the charge or sell an un-updated one. In fear of not finding them anywhere else (and against my advice) he bought it anyway.
We headed to Target. I got hit a few times by carts and assholes, but lo and behold, they had about 50 Wiis left. So he bought another one and will return the first one. This was the worst wait so far, it took him a half hour to get through the checkout. Sadly, none of the stuff I wanted was available. Considering my luck at the first two places, I didn't mind.
Lastly we went to Toys R Us. We walked in and walked right out. They had the games section blocked off and were only letting in a few people at a time. The bouncer said it would be about an hour and a half wait. LOL!
So all in all I got about $1400 worth of shit for less than half of that. It was worth it, though I'm at work now and won't be able to go to bed for another 12 hours.
Anyone else brave the bullshit?
