It tends to crash less if I don't already have another game running in the background that uses a paused state.

I bought it, like every other game that drops to a dollar. Just finished Tactical Soldier. Great, great game... but too short, around three hours. If it had been five it would have been perfect.

Anyone tried Hunters: Episode One? Very nicely done turn-based strategy game, similar to X-Com. Free to try, and then if you want to level your characters past level 2 you have to pay for the full game.
I am incredibly tempted to bite on the $14.99 pack for Atari's Greatest Hits. Apparently the control is very well done, even for stuff like Tempest.
