An old HS friend is a commercial pilot. It sucks, by the sounds of it he is going to do a career change.
bullshit.
in a little alley near the Reina Sofia and the Prado, is a shop that makes one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted.
well baked thin crust square pie with a slightly spicy sauce. it was even better with chorizo on top.
if I'm not mistaken, it is on Calle de Moratin just up the street from Plaza de San Juan, at #40 on this map
just in case you're in the area.
The only reason I said that was after eating the pizza I was pooing soup for three days, not fun. Pizza was tasty.
It would be even harder to continue living if you had killed yourself, or so I would assume.
Jesus did it.
Zombies and vampires too.
Jesus killed himself?
What a drama queen.
HE COULD HAVE GOTTEN DOWN IF HE WANTED
Anyways to address some things I'm not just thinking of doing this as a way to see the world. I like humanity, I believe good things about it and would like to help people. I enjoy doing good things, so if I can go to another country, soak in it's culture, the culture of the world, and benefit people, that is something I can truly get behind. I talk about helping people, and sure, I do random acts of kindness and donate money, but I could do something that meaningfully effects a lot of people, not just brightens their day a little bit.
And at the same time I could benefit myself as well. I'm not a patriot, I don't believe in any one country being the most important. To me, it's all about people as a whole and I want to know more about people, people around me and people on the other side of the world. My problem is committing to stuff, which I know is a huge problem, and it's probably my biggest character flaw. That's not the point though, the point is I could expand my horizons while having a positive impact on the world.
I wouldn't say I find my life unfulfilling, just that I want to have more impact and be able to offer more than I can currently. I believe that no matter how bad things get there's always something in life to enjoy, something you can do to make things better. But why wait for things to be bad to go somewhere else and see the world when I can do it anyways. I don't want to go through life not knowing anything outside America's borders, or knowing what it's like to go stay in a resort to go into these isolated pockets that are just like fancy America.
I do appreciate your post a lot Meach, and I know that even if I can't do the Peace Corp, I don't think I should sell everything I own or anything just yet because I still need to move out of Ohio (Though if I move to New York selling my car is very possible). If I don't travel, I've at least made my vow to get out of Ohio, both of these options are applicable to how I want to live my life.
