The Real TNL Pub 2009
Well, we're 23 hours from 2009, but might as well get a head start. What is everyone planning on drinking for the New Year? I haven't bought anything yet; I don't even know what to look for in champagne/sparkling wine. The only one I have had recently is Rosa Regalle banfi; a sparkling red wine that's pretty light overall.
On the beer side, I just cracked open a Zywiec porter. It's another Polish beer (Okocim being another recent trial), relatively heavy on the alcohol content at 9.5% ABV, and with a strong sweet malty flavor. The main difference that I can remember versus the Okocim is a strong taste of iron with this one.

That porter sounds tasty. We've got some crazy-colored bottle of Brut quasi-champagne.

I bought one bottle of extremely cheap champagne (Andre!) for $4, and two bottles of Crane Lake brut for like $10 (by one get one! Ever so slightly less cheap!). Yeah, I'm getting drunk tonight.

I got a six of Labatts Signature Series Honey Lager. Not bad, not great, it goes down pretty easy with a very light taste, but the girl at the counter couldn't find the price of it so she only charged me $3.99 since I told her that's what it should cost. I'm very much not complaining.

Didn't make the washington apple drink for my family on christmas, did make it for a bunch of chicks on new years and got them extremely drunk. Good times. Thanks for the recipe TNL.

I split a 30 pack of PBR with Elkino last night after I finished a 40 of Budweiser.
It was like I was a teenager all over again.

It was a very teenager night for us

I had a "ginger beer" that tasted like ass water. Never again.
