Left Hand Milk Stout
Tried a sixer of this stuff over the weekend, MAN, not bad. Completely weird flavor.
Tracer: I'll probably track down Chainsaw next.
How about this:

We have twenty craft beers and two hand-pumped cask ales on at all times. Our in-house menu board will display the Brewer, the Beer, and the ABV (alcohol by volume) for each offering and our website & twitter page will have real-time updates to our beer changes.
All of our beer is priced at $5.00. Most are served in our 14oz. blue label glass. Other specialty & high ABV beers are served in our 8 oz. red label pony glass.

Trust me when I say this, it's solid gold.
gold?
Solid Gold
Can anyone suggest a 40oz that doesn't taste like horse piss? The last one I drank was Mickey's and I did not enjoy it.
See, I got a day off coming up and I want to wake up early, hang out on the stoop, and get piss drunk.
Why not get two 22s of good beer, and enjoy the entire experience?
Mustang. Me and my roomate in college used to pound them and play NFL Gameday.
$5.52 to be precise.
$4.55 after you take out the Popeye's two-piece.
If you want to get pissed at $5.52, it's going to have to taste like shit. Quickest, most effective for less are any one of the five great bum wines. I'll recommend Night Train, being in Texas, you may not find it, so Thunderbird will work.
OK, lets say I got more than five dolla. ...lets say I got forty dollar and a cooler! It's Oktoberfest and I wanna get drunk all day! I was going to go with 2 Paulaner Oktoberfest 5L Mini-Kegs, but I did that last year. What should I drink this year?? If it comes in a keg, bonus Doc points!
Buy two six packs of something nice. Drink them all.
Goddamn. What six pack costs $20??
2 40s and a hooker dressed as a keg?
Shakey wins!
This stuff is decent.
Doc should go with a tasty couple of 22oz...and then switch to PBR for the rest of the day.
had maui brewing co's CoCoNut porter last night. yum!
http://www.barnonedrinks.com/tips/di...mages/9018.jpg
rumor has it theyre going to team up with stone brewery and make a kona coffee coconut porter soon. i cant wait.
I got Dogfishhead Midas Touch the other day. I don't really like it very much.
Boo! I love that one!
It's too sweet. It's not terrible, I just won't be getting it again.
Speaking of, tried Dogfish's Chateau Jiahu the other night. I like it!
I liked the Raison D'etre more.
I eyed the 120 min at the store the other day, but hesitated at dropping $11 on it.
Also! Now because it's approaching fall I can drink Oktoberfests!

Woo!
Grabbed the Southern Tier Pack of Pales the other day. It included their IPA, Pale, Extraordinary Ale & 422 Wheat Ale. The beers aren't particularly memorable compared to Southern Tiers imperial offerings, but at $33 a case I went in with lowered expectations and was pleasantly surprised.
I tend to not like pumpkin beer, it is kind of gross!
Last year, or possibly the year before last I had a pumpkin stout that was AWESOME, but I can't remember what it was called :(
Every year I see more and more pumpkin beers at the store, do people really like them that much or is it just kind of gimmicky? I am not entirely sure if I've had one.
I can stomach maybe 1 pumpkin beer each season. Weyerbacher imperial pumpkin is usually it. Spice really doesn't belong in beer. Yes MrK it is a total gimmick but at least regular joes are buying something other than pilsner... I have to special order Avery's Kaiser (a real man's märzen) because for some reason it isn't really out there this year >:-(
I dunno, I LOVE having pumpkin beers around for a month every year. I doubt I could stomach them for longer, but they're great while around, and I find they have no more spice than some of the heavily spiced wits. (Fuck you, Sam Adams Imperial White)
Saranac's go at it is wonderful.
Southern Tier's Imperial Pumpking Ale is my favorite, but it is very heavily spiced.
Weyerbacher's Imperial Pumpkin Ale is also good and much less "OMG this tastes like pumpkin pie!" and more "OMG great beer!" Dogfish Head's Punkin Ale is also very, very good.
I wasn't really impressed by Saranac's, but it wasn't bad and the price is right compared to the ones I listed.
I just discovered Blue Moon has a pumpkin? Had no idea, although the Harvest Moon is awesome.
I might give the Punkin Ale a go as the season progresses.
Atwater Vanilla Java Porter. Not impressed. Watery...
Yes, Asians turn crazy after one drink. What's your point?
Tried "Troegs Java Head Stout" last night, totally rad.
Looked like tar pouring into the bottle, I approve. Really great flavor. Like the coffee ice cream of beers.
I'll look for it.
I've tried three stouts in the last three days, not a single one of them worth mentioning here.
Come to Max's tonight bitch.
srsly:

Mc Chouffe and La Chouffe I've had. I liked them, but I wasn't wowed. I wasn't sure if the age on the bottles took away or added anything. If you can ask him a question, ask him what the cellaring potential is for me. The bottles I had were at least 3 years old.
It's all about the Houblon brah. However - McChouffe pairs perfectly with any food prepared with rosemary ESPECIALLY cheese. I'm talkin pants jizzing. I'll ask him about cellaring fo sho.
McChouffe is the jam, it's true. Order a cheese plate to go with it, it's the brass tacks.
Bought a shaker, starting to fuck around with making martinis. Doing 5:1 Gale Force Gin to Martin & Rossi Extra Dry Vermouth. I realize only too late I have no olives in the house.
I make something called "Hacking the Gibson," which is just a Gibson, but with a slight touch of pickle juice. It's quite good.
Gibson = Martini + Pearl Onion instead of olive.
That sounds geeky. Also pretty rad. I will try this!
New label? I remember it being blue.
shit be bangin
Tracer - I asked about the cellaring of Chouffe beers and instead of explaining it to me, he opened a bottle of 2003 christmas barleywine. Basically all the notes become laced deeper into the beer without losing any carbonation. Unfortunately he didn't have an old LaChouffe but the gist was that if would tame some of the bitterness and relax the flavors a bit.
In other news I had 2 glasses of Ommengang Cave Aged Abbey Ale and it was a show stopper. It turns out my gf likes Brett Beer so it's all very exciting.
Cool, thanks. I'll wager the Barleywine aged better. I regret that the LaChouffe wasn't as good as I had hoped, but the "relax the flavors," bit sounds about right. Perhaps too much so.
The brewmaster spoke for over an hour. I can't fucking understand french people trying to speak english. He did mention the fact that a good brewer can make the same beer the same way every time, and a shitty brewer just makes a different beer every month. Also for that reason, beer is 10x harder to make than wine. Winemakers can hide behind climate issues and grow years when they have problems. I thought that was interesting. He sure as hell smelled french and when my gf and I got a pic with him he rubbed his roquefort armpit sauce on her arm. It just wouldn't go away.

Many drunken elves in Fell's Point last night...
burned 30 bucks buying beer today on WHIMS, and I was just going to buy some standard weeknight beer.
Got the Victory Golden Monkey for drinking tonight. Probably 2-3, and I got a few of the Chouffes that have been talked up in here.
I got the Houblon and the Belgian Brown ale. I'll save them for friday night.
A party I went to last night had a keg of Flying Dog Pale Ale. Much better than the usual fare.
That's what it pretty much boils down to at the bars here in Frederick. Since the brewery is here, they managed to put their product in at most places. Unfortunately their one good brew - Gonzo Imperial Porter - is only available at this bar I hate.
The Houblon was totally bangin'.
The "usual fare" is usually Natty, Bud Light, or Yuengling, depending upon the crowd. Tonight the keg was Yuengling, which I am honestly okay with. While yesterday's beer was better, tonight's crowd and atmosphere more than made up for it.
Edit: Although I complimented some girl on her beer choice (she was drinking a Rogue Shakespeare Stout from the bottle) and she was like "Oh this? I don't know what it is, my boyfriend got it." Respect: Some people just don't have it.
Why would ppl waste good beer at a fucking kegger?
Strangely we sell a lot more Yuengling Lager than Light. Here they run about $10-$15 more than Natty, but most people consider it worth it. Natural Light just feels like straight carbonation.
Yuengling tastes like skunked beer. You heard it here first.
If you're drinking it out of green bottles there's a very good reason for that!
Clear bottles are equally to blame. Brown is best imo.
Is that the noigne o? I can't remember what I thought of that. Isn't it a seasonal tho?
It's a limited edition from the Stone Collaboration series. http://www.stonebrew.com/collab/index.htm#coconut I read a little about it and it sounds awesome.
NM the nogne O was a collab with Jolly Pumpkin but the label was very similar. The one you're looking for is getting great reviews!!

Only brewed once tho >:-(
I doubt it's in MD.
Welp I called around and anyone that would carry it didn't get any. Good luck Stormy.
Tried a beer called Bitburten (I think) last night that was pretty good, had a very mild bitter taste with what I can only say reminded me of the smell of pot. Pretty good beer and I'd like to try bottles as it was on tap. And a Blue Moon for the first time in forever.
Had to follow up the night in the hotel room with Bud Light... needless to say i did not choose this.
Rolling Rock is only acceptable at high school punk rock shows.
I can't think of a liquor store that lets bottles sit in the sun. It must be the case, however. Yuengling is always my go to beer when I'm broke.
Today is a fantastic day!

My favorite Oktoberfest beer will be waiting for me when I get back from my night class. Not to mention I found it at "Ye olde Spirit Shop" in Frederick which I never knew existed. They have a killer (and affordable) beer selection. Stone Vertical epic 090909 - $5.99!! Stone is usually so ridiculously overpriced on the east coast.
I just paid $6.99 for the same thing! Fuck you!
Tonight from the store I grabbed Dogfish 60 min. Then I come home and it was 90 min everyone here was talking about. Mistake?
I haven't had the 60, but the 90 is pretty good. The 120 Min is the infamous one that's $10 a bottle
60 is good! 90 is just better. I had a 60min with dinner tonight, and I'm contemplating another right now actually.
I had two Ayingers tonight, the Oktoberfest which I love and the Ur-Weisse. I am not typically a man of weisse, but this was pretty good. Still not really my favorite flavor.
Success! 3 bottles of Stone Kona Coffee, Macadamia, Coconut Porter in my possession. I fridged one for tonight. 12oz for $7! Also grabbed a Vertical Epic.
Had Vertical Epic on tap today. It's fucking GOOD.
Me too! and we shared crab dip like faggots.
