That's a tough one. I get the argument that it's just an extension of fingerprinting IF there are very well written laws around how that information can be used. Without those, it could be an unmitigated privacy disaster.Quote:

As for the government, well, I suppose you should be happy that various small parties are quite talented at getting more for their vote.
In a way, I would think that the current system of government is quite to your liking. I remember vaguely you saying people without money shouldn't get a vote because they have no "skin in the game". But then by that logic, shouldn't someone with $20b get $20b of votes, because he has a fuckton of "skin in the game"? This, due to campaign finance issues and lobbying, is essentially what is preventing the government from becoming the national union it will likely someday be. The only thing you could hope for if/when that happens is that the competition from third world countries forces us to continue to run 1/2 of our country on their terms.
You shouldn't be able to buy votes, and campaign refinancing is badly needed, but you also shouldn't be able to sell your vote, which is basically what people who don't pay taxes do.Quote:
