Your mother.
Bravo.
I hope it gets passed. Walmart needs to be brought to task for its shitty practices.
Wal Mart will just raise its prices to account for this, so many of the same people will still be paying the bill, but obviously at some point Wal Mart won't be able to undercut competitors anymore, so that's the real hope I suppose.
If Walmart could raise prices while maintaining sales, they would. This DIRECTLY means Walmart will be less profitable.
Not necessarily. They could also just lay off people and make customers wait in line longer and the like. If we're talking small towns without alternatives for employment, they probably don't have alternatives for shopping either. The fact their lines are longer is one of the reasons I try not to go there already, but if there was no Target or Kroger or whatever, I wouldn't have much option.
Yeah, they're already doing that.

Nice.
Must be a regional problem. My WM stays pretty well stocked and has a pretty sizable staff to do it. I went at 1 am last night to get boxes to move. They probably had 10 people restocking the food area and 5 people for each other department.
I'd like to see WM do a Kmart meltdown, but it will probably only effect more rural places, thus fucking the poor further than 'having a walmart exist'.
