My argument was not "Oh yeah? Well Bush sucked too!". My argument was that Yoshi cannot defend the waste of money and many other things that is the Iraq war which has done no good for the American people, while attacking the health care, which while not great is at least a step in the right direction.

Nobody can defend Bush's spending. He was like a drunken sailor on shore leave, and I think everyone here gets that. I was hoping that our uber-intelligent Super President would have seen the folly in this and reversed course. But that's not happening.

I have to give Obama some serious credit for some of his foreign policy victories--namely, the Iraq drawdown, and prosecution of the war on the AfPak border, and the surprising recent display of brass balls with North Korea. I especially didn't see that last one coming.

On the domestic front, I see a lot of money being borrowed from China and spent... but I'm not seeing much in the way of benefit.

The "horrible dictator" defense is pure, unadulterated bullshit. If America was so keen on taking out dictators, it wouldn't have let one retire after 50 years JUST 90 MILES OFF ITS OWN SHORES.

Just a couple thoughts off the top of my head.

Wasn't one of Obama's selling points while campaigning offshore drilling? Yet he doesn't seem to get any flack for what's happened.

Also, how in the hell does a multi billion dollar company get permission to drill a hole in the earth, underwater with no real back-up plan if something goes wrong? So far all I've seen is a lot of "maybe this will work."

Why are gas prices staying steady? Not that I'm complaining, but the moment a hurricane hits prices spike. We're just dumping oil into the ocean and prices stay steady. I don't buy the "we had a lot of reserves" bullshit. Reserves should be there when hurricanes hit as well. Oil companies are crooks. Plain and simple.

The financial collapse was caused by Bush policies, most of Obama's spending thusfar has been trying to fix said collapse.

You're an idiot if you honestly believe this. The woman has shown to be completely inept at everything she has ever done - including the lecture circuit. Obama passed the first healthcare reform in generations, is auditing the Fed for the first time ever, passing some financial reforms with teeth - in addition to ending two disastrous wars that have cost us 1 trillion dollars so far.

He's doing ok - even if you don't agree with his policies. Palin in office would not only be 'worse', it would be 'much worse'.

I wish our politicians would think farther than themselves. This country needs a tax hike and no one wants to cop to it. Useless programs need to be cut, taxes need to be pumped up by about 2% or so and maybe ad a VAT tax.

Fuck, I wouldn't get voted into office for shit.

Exactly. Palin would be like Clinton. She wouldn't do shit, but she'd spend less. Obama is worse than either one, because he does the wrong things and spends a fortune to accomplish nothing positive.

That said, I don't want Palin in there either.
