Did I say any such thing? Fuck you for not knowing how to read.
Oh, well in that case, I stand corrected.Quote:
Only an idiot with his head stuck to far up his libertarian ass (or you rely on your trust fund) could say this. Even John Stuart Mill said "“"As a government out to make no distinction of persons or classes in the strengths of their claims on it, whatever sacrifices it requires from them should be made to bear as nearly as possible with the same pressure upon all...equality of taxation, therefore, as a maxim of politics, means equality of sacrifice”.
They benefit through either (a) hard work, or (b) luck of circumstance. If I choose to pursue post-grad education and work my ass off and make a nice living for myself, it doesn't mean that I owe you a fucking thing.Quote:
It isn't punishment for being rich as their marginal utility for the next dollar is lower than the middle class and poor. And although people might say this is not scientifically provable as utility functions cannot be used to describe the irrational behavior or humans, it's simple common sense. 100 dollars to a family making 60,000 a year is worth much more and is MUCH more USEFUL than 100 dollars to a rich person. They have benefited in our society the most, it is only fitting they also contribute the most to its benefit.
And I know some small business owners who are seriously struggling to keep their heads above water. Whose anecdotal evidence is better, champ?Quote:
I hardly feel bad when I hear of top income taxes rising as most of the rich "small" business owners I know take multiple vacations to Europe and Mexico, and the Bahamas, and Vegas, I'm sorry but I don't feel bad that one of those may not happen/:td:
You can post in this thread if you like but there are other issues going on in the Obama administration and all this economy talk is overshadowing them. It'd be easier to have a separate thread about it is all I'm saying.
I read it.
I hear they made a movie about Gooch.
There's no reason to cut benefits right now. To the rich the middle or the poor. But benefits for the poor were already slashed earlier in the year.
