It was a lot of fun, though I think it was Chuxs' connection that made the party chat collapse. 3 times.
Forgot how good this game looks and plays with friends, the patch is just going to make this an even better game.

So the 800MB patch is out. The Restart Event option is LOVELY.
Does the patch include the data for the party pack or whatever? That's a huge file. I think the free content for this is pushing over 2 gigs now.
Edit: looks like it does. The party pack download is like 100kb.
BTW, all of the DLC is included in the new 800MB file. You can delete the old patches from your system.

I was wondering if the new 1.6 update just rolled everything into one...seemed like a huge file for just a restart option and gameplay tweaks...
It is...you can no longer download the old 'patches'. The only way to do the updates in a user-friendly manner (for new users) is to have one patch. So you can erase the old ones...
Done and done. Aside from the new front end and online store (?), nothing seems different. Where the hell is my restart option, or do I have to buy the party pack to do that? In which case that seems like a stilted deal - Criterion has been great at making all their tweaks on the game free. It would suck if one feature was now tied to paid content.
Restart option is accessed by pressing right on the D-pad during an event.
They changed the Burnout signs to neon red light signs, they look really cool. And I also noticed the jump markers were changed to a bright blue too. Every time I play this, I can't stop being impressed at how good it looks. The new car physics are great too.
oh yeah, I really like how they made the signs, jumps, and shortcuts easier to see. And thanks for the heads up on the restart - now I'm getting addicted to this all over again!
I wish they'd remove the gates (or change them into something totally different) when you smash them. Some are hard to tell if you have or not and then it's disappointing. Ditto for the Super Jumps (make them change color)
Agreed. I guess they keep them visible since they're still useful for certain modes, even if they've already been hit.
Just check your stats pages for hints on where to go for the missing stuff.
I really wish the Restart option was implemented when I started playing this game during the winter break. Completing all the burning routes would have been A LOT more convenient. They make the Stunt Runs more tolerable too. I finally got my Elite License and my bling-bling cars because I was motivated to finish the last five stunt runs I had. Now all Criterion needs to do is bring back Crash Junctions and Paradise will be the greatest racing game ever.
I'm not a big fan of how the broken billboards pulsate red, but I won't lie, they were really easy to spot when I was doing my last Stunt Runs.Quote:

When you get to the roof of the parking garage, take the ramp that points towards I-88. It'll actually lead you to the roof of another building, and that building has the ramp where you can jump and hit the toll-booth billboard. I did it last night.Quote:
