I got the same problem with the game. I died and have to restart a couple of times, then I gave up. I will try it again though since I do like it.
god damn that looks great!!
Holy shit, the Hawking-esque voice from the wheelchair had me in stitches.
What?
Bathrooms don't need keys. You can save at every bathroom. The only key was for the underground tunnel that helps you get around faster.
You really don't have a great chance of getting 100% without reaching max level, and that's fine. You might not beat it until you level up some anyway. Play it like a horror movie. Save who you can and who you find, and sometimes people die. Sometimes you die. It's ok. Play for fun, then when you're level 50 or whatever go for 100%.
Game was rad, don't bring your weird shortcomings into this and say there was something wrong with it.
You can save in the bathrooms? I don't even know from the bathroom saves. "Completely not intuitive".
Except they tell you? And your map has a fat S everywhere you can save?
Holy shit.
Didn't find it compelling enough to look into it! Glad it's your favorite and stuff though! Let's fight motherfucker!
My instant response to all game cinemas is to skip 'em immediately, so PART OF THE PROBLEM, I'm sure... in-game storytelling or kiss my ass.
oh shit is it on like donkey kong?
It is on like Michelle Kwan.
Like Donkey Kong on Michelle Kwan imo
In the movie Tron.
lol!!
I left limpy bitch to die so me and the other survivors I had could escape the convicts. YOU GUYS CAN HAVE HER, ZOOM!
I shot every "survivor" in the face.
Fuck them... not my responsibility.
I share your pain. My first run through the game I never unlocked the shortcut, so I had to go through the courtyard like a dozen times... and I think I killed those fuckers three times just to finish it.
Saving made sense to me, in terms of risk. They were usually a little out of your way, so could you spare the time and zombie blood, or do you press on hoping there's no serious trouble until the next checkpoint? Added a nice bit of tension for me.
I would play, die, restart, repeat until I became an unstoppable zombie punching motherfucker.

So Capcom and Microsoft's "big" announcement today was that GoW's Marcus and Dom would be playable in Lost Planet 2 as bonus costumes. Cool but not quite on the level I was expecting with some of the hoopla.
That wasn't really the big hoopla. It was a Japanese conference, Monster Hunter coming to 360 is kind of a big deal for that region. It's probably the best hope MH has of catching on here too, though even best case scenario it's almost certainly never going to be anywhere near as big here as it is over there.
Get that Gears garbage out of my Lost Planet !
Dear Gears Characters: Leave your netcode home pls.
I hope Dom screams "MARIIAAAAAA" everytime he dies.
Boo-urns on no Cole. It's never naptime, baby.
Oh those silly Japanese!
Yes its real. Its being directed by the Dead Rising Producer Keiji Inafune.
Looks like a Troma flick.
In other news, I really like that new Capcom logo sequence.
Uuuuuuuuuuuuggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.Quote:

I think you mistyped "Aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwweeeessssssooooommmmmmeeee!"
I thought the tacked-on card-collecting trend was over.
You blow through 200 weapons over the course of an hour in Dead Rising. I don't want to stop every time I pick a baseball bat to tinker with it in an inventory screen if it's going to last all of ten hits. I guess they could balance it by making weapons indestructible, but that would be even dumber and even farther away from The Point.
I dunno, I could see it making sense with the flow of the game. Let the player mess around with shit as-is to begin with, start giving them other options when they get to a point where they feel like they've seen it all or when they need the extra power. If you could make a mannequin limb bazooka and a drill motorcycle right away, you wouldn't even bother with the 'normal' weapons.
Just think of them as blueprints if you don't like cards.
Another generation, another inferior piece of hardware fucking things up. How on earth did we manage to have the sales totals be the exact opposite of the relative hardware two generations in a row?
Of course, Capcom could solve this by just giving the 360 a trimmed version, while everyone gets the real game, but noooooo...
If anything related to LP2 bunches your panties this much.......I don't know what to say.
Yoshi knows he's going to buy that cut content when it's released as DLC.
Lost Planet sucked so bad. Guess he's looking for any excuse to rattle off his usual drivel.
It's not just a LP2 issue. The rest of this generation is going to have shit like this. It took a few years for the 360 discs to show their age, but the time has come. And since Microsoft's dumbasses didn't make hard drives standard, they can't compress and force an install even.
Cut content was probably a bunch of crap anyways.
This is just Capcom using a convenient excuse to release DLC later on.
Capcom quickly went to do damage control on Takeuchi's statement.
I don't see the big deal right now. If the content they cut is actual stages that can be added to the game or some cool gameplay modes, then it won't matter if it's released as DLC, as people will buy it. If it's just some shitty weapons or skins, then Capcom can GTFO.
And maybe there would be room for that content if they didn't take up space with useless bullshit like GOW characters. :p
Thinking about it again, Capcom is just whining here. The same people complaining about having to cut content from a 360 release because of disc space have no trouble releasing all the RE5 DLC together with the game on a single disc for the PS3 Gold Edition and the stand-along game with a DLC voucher on 360. Why is this suddenly a problem for them? Release the full game on PS3 and the content as DLC on 360 or STFU.
I thought this thread was bumped for news on the game that matters. You can all kindly suck a gross of dicks.
That's a lot of dicks!
The only interesting thing I've heard about lost planet 2 was that Capcom was going to put Marcus and Dom from gears of war in it for the 360. So my interest in the game went up a bit more. Also are they putting some Resident evil characters in also?
Wesker at a minimum.
He extracts the t-virus from the mud kip, then hops in his Delorean.
Wesker is the most boring villain ever. Slick 80's hair and sunglasses, that's about it.
That's how he gets you. By making you play boring games.
The only awkward part of that monster was escaping through an anus. Were you doing it right?
Either sometimes the camera went all wonky on me to where I was looking at wierd views of the innard walls. then I'd end up in some knock down, get up loop till I died or got shat out.
Then usually when I'd be busy setting up that first check point thingy the other guys would dissappear like "Oh you set that thing up! Oh dear...lookie the size of that thing behind him.....well lunch break lets go guys!"
Anyone up for playing some of the Lost Planet demo on the ps3? K3V and I are going to give it a go shortly.
Frank West is joining Wesker, Marcus, and Dom in Lost Planet 2. Awesome.
I just can't get excited about this game. The first was so.......boring.
Frank West in LP is hilarious.
Ive been revisiting Lost Planet1 in anticipation of 2. The game is going to kick ass in 4 player co-op. Theres been a couple new gameplay vids floating around - looks like theres lots of mini bosses along with the huge end baddies. Bosses were the whole reason to play 1's solo mode. Its looking to be the 3rd person shooter, co-op contra equivilant Ive been waiting for. Hopefully you can really jack up the difficulty. I cant wait.
Hell even the LP multiplayer Ive grown to finally enjoy after hours of not knowing the the hell was going on. I hear in LP2, theyve weakened the roll a bit which is very welcome.
May 2010 is going to be the ultimate co-op month with LP2 and Red Dead - releasing only one (!) week apart too. Bout time companies started taking co-op seriously.
Dead Rising is grossly overrated. It's a turd for sure.
The multi looks fun but VERY similar to 1. If anyone is playing multi, send me an invite.
Dead Rising was the last unique and interesting game Capcom made, you and Razor are nuts.
How is a zombie game unique? It's the same shit except it follows the script of Dawn of the Dead remake.
It was a well done Zombie game before there were honestly... any well done zombie games I can remember? The game was straight up Fantastic and is one of the best games on the 360.
Though honestly unique was the wrong word, I used it as a substitute for a new IP, because it was the last new IP from Capcom worth mentioning. And I think the only other is Lost Planet, which is not worth mentioning.
Resident Evil says eat shit.
They were both handled differently but the only noteworthy thing of DR is beating the shit out of zombies for combos. Everything else was sub-par as FUCK.
You could mention the AI was bad and I'd give you that, but that's about it.
But yeah RE is a good one before hand, but yeah one is about beating the shit out of Zombies the other is barely surviving. So again, still unique in the gaming world.
Someone at Capcom has the job of making games with the worst control schemes known to man
He was hard at work on Dead Rising and RE
Funny how once he left RE the controls for 4 and 5 were great while Dead Rising played like poo.
RE5 plays WAYYYY more like poo than Dead Rising. The inventory system can eat a million dicks, and the partner AI in the later levels utterly destroys any ability to play it single-player.
I played, and enjoyed, Dead Rising. I even drove over all the fucking zombies in the tunnels over and over to get the Mega Man gun so I could beat all the bosses in one shot because fuck it, that's why.
Then I went around and punched a zombie in the face because it's fun.
DR is amazing because you can run around wearing child-sized clothing with a servbot helmet on and giant plastic heads on zombies then beat the shit out of them with guitars. Also Frank eating anything is hilarious. Especially when he shoves pies in his face. If you don't like DR you are probably dumb and ugly.
My major issue with Dead Rising isn't with the controls or with the escort missions. It's with the way the leveling works, and how Capcom really wants you to die and restart an awful lot since you're far too underpowered in the beginning to have a hope of finishing the game. Capcom managed to take grinding, normally only found in the awful JRPG genre, and add its terribleness to an action game.
I beat it around level 40 without ever restarting. Take better pictures.
The highest levels exist more for the survival mode, not the main game.
I ended up playing through half of the game and then restarting and really liked it that way, but I can understand hating the leveling.
This looks great! Definitely diggin' the added co op but I'm not sold on the babysitting aspect of it.
That trailer doesn't really reveal much about the actual game. I want to see hundreds of zombies getting shredded and burned.
What is the story here? The orphans from part one explode and zombies invade the US leading to American Zombie Gladiators on TV? That is what it looked like kind of!
The first game was great, if you didn't like it you are weak.
Valve gave a little heads up to Frank West in the new L4D DLC:

I missed this during E3; Capcom put out a trailer for Dead Rising 2 Case: Zero, a downloadable prequel exclusive to Xbox Live with some exclusive stuff that carries over to the main game.
I'm into the idea as long as it's more meaty than a demo and offers at least a couple hours of gameplay.
Eh, let's be realistic here.
I'll judge on about the same merits as an XBLA game. It's certainly a better implementation of the concept than Fable Pub Games.
That looks fantastic. A game company put actual in-game footage in their trailer, too! Imagine that! That pitchfork shotty is pretty amazing.
I'll buy it.
Not convinced that I need that right now, but if it's good and the carryover stuff is cool it'll probably push me to pick up the 360 version over the PS3 one.
Definitely buying this.
Looks great! Free-to-800 points will make me get this immediately.
I wonder if Frank will have a cameo.

Special Edition for Dead Rising 2 will include the game, along with a Zombrex syringe pen, prescription notepad, prospectus sales brochure, safety card and 48-page hardback art book.
Xbox 360 owners will get an 83-minute Zombrex Dead Rising Sun film, while PlayStation 3 owners will get a Blu-Ray disc with a making-of featurette and a voucher for a XMB theme. Both versions will cost $79.99.
Thanks for making identical posts.
Will the controls change for DR2? Or will they still be shit controls found in the original?
I had no problem reading the other photo.
Lets forget this thread was about LP2.
I want that syringe pen. But I'm not paying for it.

They're pretty common promo items.
