Red Dead Redemption - PS3/360

I spent like 2.5 hours playing poker last night just to get the last joker to leave the table. 2 of the 3 other players left the table within 5 minutes. It took me forever to take all of the last guy's cash. I admittedly suck at poker but that fucking guy would fold 99% of the time I would place a bet. I had to nickel and dime him to death. I love this game.

My poor horse died in a cliffside stumble as I was rushing to stop an unjust hanging. Tragic.

In related news, are hides/skins good for anything other than selling?

Real poker players fold 90% of the time. Poker is boring as shit to watch even when they edit the dead-time out. Fun to play, though.

Don't quote me but I think a few outfits require special items like hides and pelts. The only item I haven't sold is the gold from the treasure. Just wondering if it's worth something down the line (there is a point in the game with a mine). Horse hides can be worth a good amount of cash, too.

I don't think any outfits require them, but there are definitely some sidequests that ask for X number of X hides/feathers, although they've been infrequent and it's always a pretty low number so far. The meat/antlers/teeth/claws/hearts you're pretty safe to sell, as far as I've seen.

I'm holding onto the gold as well, it's trade value seems to fluctuate based on location and I believe your Fame rating affects prices too. It's definitely seemed to be worth a decent amount more at Mexican shops, so I'm thinking it'll be worth more still at the last American area that opens up.

I know, this was clearly a case of things getting too realistic in gaming. :lol: Man, that took forever. I started playing poker at around 11:30pm and I just figured I would call it a night after I quickly clear the table. Yeah, that happened around 2am. :lol:

Just started plying this. During the initial train ride I had a body floating outside the window the entire time. I <3 glitchy sandbox stuff.

Tarnation, that weren't no glitch! Th' ghost of th' ol' prospector is out t'getcha!

I broke a wild horse with a red coat. I've taken to calling him Red Hare. :)

Yeah... don't get too attached to your horses.
