Red Dead Redemption - PS3/360

Finally, we have the official announcement of Red Dead Revolver 2! After the first glimpse at the PS3 unveiling and then no mention since, I was worried it was canned. Thankfully not, and it's coming in the fall!

Red Dead was one of my favorite games last gen. They dont make enough wild west games. I still play that and Sunset Riders to get my fix. This is great news but im not sure how I feel about it having open-ended gameplay. I kinda liked the Contra-like action level by level of the original. I never did play that game Gun tho...

They ported it for the 360 launch. I've been meaning to play it again but I'll probably just wait for this.

This looks great. I meant to play the PS2 one but never got around to it, but I did play Gun till the end and loved it. I heard from several people that RDR was the better game, so I am excited for this.

The 360 version can be found for like, $5 now, and it's a great game.

I dug the original Red Dead, Gun and Call of Juarez so I'm definitely keeping an eye out for this one as I'm a total sucker for westerns.

I'm surprised the Old West theme hasn't really been exploited in games for all these years. One comes out every 5 years or so.

Please, please, please let this one's soundtrack also be culled from various spaghetti westerns like the first.

Bring on some great Western games already!!! Someone should make a western thats a ripoff of a bunch of western movies. I want a sidekick named Ned, spit chew on everyone and everything, and at least paint one town red and call it hell. Oh and whipping bitches too.

Earth should do the soundtrack to this.

Looks nice. I assume its coming out this fall. There's also the new Call of Juarez game next month so I'm happy to see some new western games coming out.

That looks pretty damn amazing.

I watched the gameplay trailer on Live and wow, the game looks awesome. I had a lot of fun with all the next gen western games and this looks like it will kill all of them.

Awesome. Components of just about every Eastwood Spaghetti Western I can think of -- even some Pale Rider and Unforgiven thrown in. Six-shooters are cool, as are duels at high noon.

Fuck I love westerns. The first was pretty good despite it's huge flaws. I am much more forgiving of a mediocre western game than any other kind (thought Call of Juarez was fun). If this is anything like it looks I will be very happy.

This could be game of the year for me.

The original Red Dead was fun (but shallow). Even the shoot out death matches. There is a void in this area that needs to be filled and this game looks quality enough to do it. I hope they kept the original music, too. It was SOOOO good.

Stranger's Wrath wasn't really western enough for people who love western's. Too... Oddworld. That's not bad, just not the Cinderella fit I was looking for.

I played Gun and the original Red Dead when it came out. Gun lacked the strong story of Red Dead Revovler, but the open world was everything I wanted RDR to be. Hopefully, Redemption will be the best of both worlds.

I was going to post that weapons of RDR video, but it looks like BerringerX beat me to it. But I should have a pretty awesome video to sneak to you next week... (our little secret?)

I'm ok with the delay. There's way to much to play now. Bad company, Just Cause 2 and Splinter Cell in April.

This game ran like SHIT at Pax. The framerate was fucking atrocious.

I can't imagine playing that multiplayer over Lead & Gold based on previews of both.

The thing I'm worried about with this game (well most upcoming ones) is that it is too damn easy. Batman Arkham Asylum and Assassin's Creed 2, to name two of the recent big-budget ultra-polished, 9.9 repeating out of 10, games I've played, definitely fit that. I don't know why but I have no interest in playing games I can sleepwalk through at the moment.

To me the fact that I can openly roll with 4 of my friends in a posse is enough. The deathmatch and gold rush modes look great. The weight gimmick of the gold rush is going to make it fun being greedy. This game can't come fast enough.

Holy shit, multiplayer free roam looks fantastic. I was already sold on this game, but dang.

The fun part about online play for me is that all of our friends play differently. One snipes, one seems very goal driven, one causes havok, me I blow things up, etc. And this game rewards every type of player. It will be fun to roll with 4+ people you know in a posse. This could be GOTY for me if it lives up to the hype.

That last is very important. I'm very wary of RockStar these days, having been terribly disappointed by GTA4 (sorry, I just thought it was incrediboring). RDR looks absolutely amazing, but I could just be getting sucked in by the hype train. Definitely taking a wait-and-see approach, or waiting for a demo (seriously, they should release a demo).

Im all over this but I just refuse to believe the multiplayer is going to be as good as advertised - specially if GTAIV is anything to go by. Campaign will be boss but we'll see on the multi end. Time to watch The Good Bad Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West in anticipation!

Gta 4 was suppose to have awesome multi and it sucked huge balls.

If the competitive multi sucks, it's still got free-roam, and it's not like GTA had anything analogous to that. Co-oping around the game world with a posse of friends seems pretty hard to screw up.

If you didn't get into my murder bus in GTAIV and hang out the window shooting mother fuckers all day, you did it wrong.
