Nexia, the Canadian biotech company which produced the goats, said the animals are the first commercially-viable creatures made from the DNA of two species.

I'm just clueless as to what the hell possessed them to get the idea of mixing spider and goat dna. Its not exactly the type of thing that comes up in normal conversation.

i think they just put a bunch of animals names in a hat and pull out two and see what they get.

I read about this three months ago in Business 2.0. The only difference is that they were reporting on a US company using cows.

They also reported on a certain research firm begining to grow plastic...organically.

Science has been splicing catfish genes with tomatoes to make the tomatoes last longer in cold storage, under more severe temperatures. And they've been doing it for years.

That is so cool.

That report at AICN also mentioned a 8 year old kid scientists have found (forgot where, somewhere in Europe) that is covered in fur from head to toe. The kid seems fine, and has very good physical skills. If only his fur was blue.....
