Sounds like their attempts at industrial. Nevermind, once it goes a little later it turns into generic jpop.

Holy crap, i concur that the first intro song is probably the worst anime intro i've ever seen. Usually i am a fan of anime intro music but this one was utter crap.

I used to love that show growing up. I remember when they finally defeated the final boss, only to have it reassemble into this giant fortress and destroyed the team (don't remember what happened after that).
