Call them out on the lie, show their mother the photographic evidence, then drive them to the lake and give them flowers before you shake their hand and walk away.
You could also kill them.
Take everything they say with a grain of salt. Don't trust them, don't rely on them for anything. Expect everything you say to be twisted and repeated to everyone they know.

Korian, if it's an ethics violation and you work for a corporation, they are required to offer you a way to file the complaint without the suspect being made aware of it. Usually it's posted next to all of your min wage/worker's rights stuff on the bulletin board.
Go that route, that way if he does respond to you in person, he'll be fired.
And if you are a Sarbanes Oxley corporation, he should be put on leave ASAP until the investigation is completed.
I don't really have a set policy.
Most of the time I just ignore them or humor them just to avoid getting into it.
If there's a possibility that their bullshit could cause trouble for me, then I just politely ask questions until they fuck up and contradict themselves. Failing that, I will get very irate, and without making any specific threats or accusations that could get me into trouble, try and make them as uncomfortable as possible.
