Contest: Draw a Day in the Life of TNL

Time to get creative again for fun and prizes. This week, we are asking that you draw something that depicts a day in the life of the TNL Forum. It could be in any medium, as long you can upload it to the site. The guidelines:

1. You must upload your entry as an attachment in this thread by Sunday, April 5, 2009, at 11:59 P.M. Eastern Time.
2. Your submission must represent a day in the life of the forum. That can mean the forum in general, specific users of the forum, or typical posts one might encounter here. Of course, the point is to put together something interesting, so you can definitely go for laughs and use caricatures and other exaggerations.
3. You do not need to be able to draw well. Entries will be judged on some combination of overall impact, humor, originality, and nuance.
4. You may enter as often as you would like in the active period.
5. All entries must follow our forum rules. The challenge will be using satire without being hostile - but, hey, we specialize in that here.

The winner will be picked by me and receive a copy of Resident Evil 5 for the Xbox 360 (generously donated by Biff) and a $25 Amazon gift card. This is an informal contest and any aspect of it may change at any time with no prior notice.

Copy is sealed, I can probably exchange for PS3 if need be.

Does it have to be by someone on the site? I have a buddy who kind of reads over my shoulder sometimes who wants to draw what he thinks the site is about. Or do I have to post it, say it's me, and then give him the stuff on the sly?

I would hope somebody that actually posts on tnl wins.

I have a few ideas, but only one seems doable by Sunday.

Get your friend to register, Calliander. It's free, and some contests will be members-only, thirty-days/twenty-five posts, like the in the second part of the recent Face-off. (By the way, for Dyne: NGEFreek won the Face-off and Hubbitron won the supplementary prize.)

All I meant was that a single user specific drawing won't capture the entire essence of TNL. It's only going to focus on a small faction. Which is fine, but I think it'd be fun if people traveled outside their cliques and draw about TNL as a whole.

My first one was about that, Advocate is all of TNL, and Josh is fucking us all and quite happy about it.

Actually, it's me speaking kansai-ben, and then Finch is using a typical anime-ish "cha" at the end of everything. It's nice that, if nobody else does, at least one person appreciated that part of the Japanese version.

Where's the kansai-ben in your speech? Aside from the な... that is? It looks like just ため口 to me. Maybe it's just because my japanese is all funky from years living in the inaka though, that I don't see it.

Hurry up with part two now... and put it out in japanese first and make the rest of the people guess what is said. :)

Not a whole lot (due to there being not a lot of text overall), but the "na", and then the "yurusehen" instead of "-nai", and then "uchi" as a Kansai-area female yankee way of saying "watashi".

Well, the "uchi" one I had to ask about, because I was not at all sure what would go good there, and that was the answer I got from a legit Osaka local. But it might not be just a Kansai area type of thing.
