Oh did I forget one? Silly me. These series wins, they just fly by don't they? :D
Ellsbury steals home! That was awesome.
Ten straight for Boston.
Sweeping NY always feels great, even though they'll prob just sweep us later. The season series always ends up around .500.

Interesting article written about today in an alternate timeline where A-Rod was traded to Boston instead of the Yankees.
I think A-Rod going to the Yankees is what won the Red Sox the series. And conversely had he gone to Boston the Yankees would have found a way to win it those years.
Eh if you go on the A-Rod is cursed scenario I guess I can see your point.
The truth is if we had gotten A-Rod and Magglio (a lost piece of the puzzle when people remember this trade) Theo and Larry would never have had the motivation to accelerate the farm system and opportunities would have been lost. That being said, the Beckett and Lowell for Hanley Rameriz trade likely would never have happened and we'd easily have the most ridiculous offense of all time.
I can still see us winning in 2004 (especially with that pitching staff), but as for the future I don't think the Sox would have won much more beyond that because the emphasis of the club would have remained on offense and not on pitching, which is what has turned the Red Sox from a joke to an absolutely dominant organization. Keep in mind, I'm the type of person that likes the make up of the Sox teams from 06 07 08 and 09 a lot better than I did the 03 04 and 05 teams. The emphasis has been on building an absolutely dominant starting rotation, with a scary completely over the top for any team's needs bullpen, the culmination of which is the fact that we have 8 frontline starters, and most likely the best Bullpen in baseball at the moment.
The Yankees would not have won simply because their team, drafts, and signings have all been people ill suited for New York, on top of being just the wrong players the club needs in general. I mean for how many more years are they gonna sign sluggers and frontline starters who can't handle pressure before they realize that their Bullpen is the thing that is really KILLING them?
I don't blame Cashman. He tried to build a farm system and the Steinbrenner's, both Hank and George, wanted nothing to do with it.
