I think people were just visualizing me as some hick and putting it together. I re-read everything I posted in this thread and none of it was along the lines of extreme or excessive.

I am totally pro handgun ban's and anti assault rifle bans.

Can't overthrow a government with handguns, but you can kill people in baltimore and DC.

At least with rifles they can't conceal them quite as easy.

Edit: Or maybe guns should just be really expensive with high taxes, so you can get one, you just have to really want it.

You can't overthrow a government with any kind of guns, really.
As long as the gov't has control of the armed forces, no pitiful militia is going to be able to challenge them.

vasteel, I thought the government did that because they were such nice guys

So I'm going to be moving to a rougher area soon and I think I want to get a handgun. Will probably also get a conceal & carry permit at some point since it's so easy here.

I've got to test out everything I'm considering of course, but right now for the C&C piece I'm thinking about a Glock 26. I'm also looking at the XD45's for something bigger.

Any of TNL's Bruce Gummers (if you exist) have any other recommendations?
