Staal's game winning goal was a little further out on his blocker side and Marty missed it. Just like Henrik did. It was basically the same goal on either side of the ice. How you can characterize one as "weak" and one as not (even though that same shot beat Marty twice) is beyond me.
-
How about we agree that neither teams demise in the playoffs was a result of their goaltending, eh? The Rangers were a fucking weak team that were lucky to get to game 7 on 3 great games by Henrik and his game 7 effort basically let in one goal. The first Caps goal hit two Rangers and changed direction twice and was impossible for anyone to stop. Marty played his fucking ass off, too.

Because Lundqvist's glove side high is CHRONICALLY awful. Marty's blocker is not.
-
Of course, the Rangers sucked and didn't deserve to be in the postseason. Should have been Florida.
Montreals a bunch of cockscuking choking chokers too.

Yeah, okay, whatever. Reading the Devils forums on HFboards, half of the Devils fans blame Marty for letting in two softies and the rest are lauding his HOF credentials from before the lockout and refusing to acknowledge that he hasn't done dick since Stevens left. That includes having his ass handed to him consistently by the chronically awful glove side high Lundqvist and Cam Ward, too.
Every series analysis said the only shot the Rangers had was if Lundqvist played out of his mind - which he did. Which is why they lost by one goal to a team that EVERYONE, including me, predicted would win. He basically won three games by himself and nearly every person that knows anything about hockey acknowledges that he's one of the NHL's best goalies and the Rangers best player by a mile. I'll take their opinion, and mine, over your Ranger-hating biased opinion any day of the week.

Man Hoah you'd love Faraway today...lol.
Ripping the Rangers as heartless, blaming Sather.
-
The Rangers had heart. Just no talent. How the fuck do you let Jagr go and sign Redden for Jagr-like money @ 6.5 million/per?

Pressure to be beyond a great goaltender:
The Rangers played 89 games this year, including playoffs. They scored two goals or fewer in 45 of those. In another five, they were awarded a “third” goal because they won the skills competition at the end of the game. That’s 50 times in 89 games they had two goals or fewer in regulation.
Round Two Playoff Predictions (I was 7-1 in the opening round):
Chicago / Vancouver : Vancouver in 6. Luongo has something to prove and the team behind him to do it.
Detroit / Anaheim: Detroit in 6. I like the Ducks, but Detroit is a monster.
Caps / Pens: Penguins in 6. Varlamov hasn't faced a real offense yet.
Boston / Carolina: Boston in 7, thanks to depth.
Biggest possible upset: Carolina over Boston in 7 if Ward plays out of his mind.

I didn't realize Marty was turning 37 in a few days. So, if the Devils do anything next year, he'll be 38 in round 2? Oh boy.

Malkin, Ovechkin, and Datsyuk for MVP. No Crosby (or Mason).
