It's a Trap
So one of my friends presents me with tickets he got in the mail that invites us to watch a couple of television pilots, so me being interested to see what new shows might get put one I go with him, his wife and my girlfriend. There are at least 100 people when we show up at the hotel, they hand us folders give us some speech about the TV shows and the advertisements that we are going to have to review on.
First they have us take our time and fill out a form and go through a booklet circling what products we would buy. They were collected and some body out of the audience was selected to pick 3 of them for prizes for those who were picked. Then we proceeded to watch the first show called "Soulmates", which about a woman that lived a passed life with one of here patients... it was so fucking terrible. When I was watching I noticed that the cars and the cellphones in this show were pretty old, but I figured maybe the setting just wasn't present day. It was suppose to be an hour long show that was edited to half hour and it didn't make any sense. There was also commercial breaks which didn't help. They ask us questions about the show and then we watch the next one called "Dads". This show was a generic bullshit Fullhouse inspired piece of shit. My favorite part beside the part were it ended was Rue McClanahan, but again I noticed that she moved around pretty good for an old woman and "seemed" pretty young looking if you know what I mean. They have us circle more products for more shit I didn't win answered more questions and then we left.
Cut to today, where I'm at work all day and I have my cell phone in the back room of the pharmacy on vibrate. On my breaks I take my phone and look at the call log to see who called me. The fucking marketing people have called like 5 times. Strange I ask myself and say I'll answer it when I have the time. Fastforward to 7pm when I get off of work and while cooking dinner I answer the call, proceed to curse them out for calling me 10 times during the day and see what they have to say(yeah I should have just hung up, but I wanted to know...). So they guy on the phone is asking me questions about the day of the previews, but all the questions had nothing to do with the tv shows, which definitely raised suspicions about what I saw. So while I was talking to him I remembered that one name Rue McClanahan, so I went to my pc, did an IMDB search for her and "Dads" and it came up as a pilot that was true, but I was fucking shot in 1997!!! I called my friend who as soon as he answered started to apologize because they fucking called him like 10 times a day and he found out that it was bullshit the day after we went. He was pissed as well because he said he looked on the internet before we went to see how legit this was. And I know it how marketing research is done is some cases, but you would have thought that there was somebody out there that was pissed off and shared their story to warn others. Well since he couldn't find one and this is the only forum I visit, I decided to share so if anyone here finds tickets in the mail claiming to be for pilot tv shows be fucking ware and don't waste your time!

TLDR
Actually I did, which was hard mind you. So the moral of the story is you went to market research which showed you old TV shows?
-
So you signed up to watch tv and it didn't meet your standards?
Join the club.
-
Would have been alright if it was about the tv shows. the whole ordeal was for commericials diguised as pilots for tv shows.
-
Everything with some form of "offer" goes straight into my shredder.
Sorry you had to go through with that.

-
Agreed. Lame.If you are going to do market research at least don't be a douche about it.
-
LOL, it came in the mail and he thought it was legit?
-
Your misfortune is helping me get through my day at work.
