Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

I agree. I did the first level of Chapter 2 so far, and I really am not sure how classic Castlevania could be converted to 3D much better. It's a lot like Mario 64 in that you could debate whether the 2D or 3D versions were better, but both were clearly good enough to make the discussion interesting. The one disappointment so far is the music. I think they should have played it safe and re-used the series' classic tunes, like Bloody Tears and Requiem for the Nameless Victim. If they went with the Dracula Battle Perfect Selection versions of these, it would have been so amazing.

Is the framerate better than in the demo?

But the music is still excellent I think. Movie quality IMO. It kind of has a Lord of the Rings vibe to it.

Music is sadly one of the things I enjoy most about/look forward to with certain games.

I like the demo enough, but it doesn't seem to do anything better than God of War 3. I get a LoTR vibe (not just the warg, but the camera angles, art, etc). I will finish GoW3 first, as I like Greek mythology a lot more and will wait for a price drop.

This is the main reason why I didn't get the LE. There was never a mention in any write-up about the music. I figured the $30 difference wasn't worth it for me when it came down to just the art book then.

It seems to be, but it's not butter-smooth like it would have been had they pulled their head out of their ass and made a Pretzel Crisp version.

I'm thinking that a cool way to use the music would be when things from Castlevania mythology creep into the game (like the first time they call the combat cross vampire killer) or near the end of the game if indeed they do get to Dracula or a giant castle (I haven't read spoilers so I genuinely don't know if this happens). Like in Smallville whenever something overtly Supermanish happens they play a few bars from the old Superman movie theme.

I'll agree that the music isn't mindblowing, but I wish I had the LE just for the artbook. The concept work on this is pretty amazing, and I LOVE the book page illustrations that they made in the style of Durer etchings. Anyone know off hand if the art book will be available by itself? The design work on this game is pretty fantastic all around.
