I actually considered the third party aftermarket car parts situation after I'd hit 'post', but whatever. I can't throw a Hemi engine in my Nissan is where I think I was going with that? Oh well. No matter. Keys!
The key is a kin to a power cord, which I couldn't care less if it is proprietary or not. Most people don't replace keys or power cords. Nearly everyone has to buy accessories, and they are gouged every time they buy one for the 360. You want a monopoly? Look at the wireless network adapter for that thing. Literally one exists, and Microsoft makes it and charges an outrageous price for it.
