We can't all root for teams that play in a division with two expansion teams and a team their previous city didn't want.
We can't all root for a bygone era either.
The AFC South has just as many Super Bowl victories as the NFC East over the last decade:

And if we're using your standard of "only Super Bowls matter," The AFC North and AFC East are way ahead of everyone else with a total of 3 a piece.
But NFC East reigns supreme because their own awesomeness get in each other's way.
That's not quite the Yoshi theory of NFC East Superiority.
This is the correct line of thinking.

In the same way as if you like the Patriots, but call Wade Phillips a bumbling buffoon filled with gluttonous fat of a HIV diseased Rhino. He'll call you wrong, but if he says it ... Its okay.
Going by recent Super Bowl history, I'd say it's more the Packers, Bears, Seahawks, Cardinals, Rams, Panthers, Falcons, and Buccaneers that have gotten in the NFC East's way.
