i know you don't watch AFC football but revis had by far the better season. it isn't even close. revis shut down the best receivers in football week in and week out and by doing so enabled the jets D to double other receivers and blitz. revis means more to his unit than any other player in football who isn't peyton manning (who ironically got jobbed when woodson won the heisman)
i mean, seriously, did you watch watch what fitzgerald did to woodson sunday night?

I watch plenty of AFC football and am well aware of those stats. And Charles Woodson had the better year. He created more turnovers, is better in run support, and is a leader.
Here are some more numbers for you:
Woodson: 66 solo tackles, 2 sacks, 9 stuffs, 4 forced fumbles, 9 INTs, 3 TDs, and 18 passes defended
Revis: 47 solo tackles, 0 sacks, 0 stuffs, 0 forced fumbles, 6 INTs, 1 TD, and 31 passes defended.
Revis is a one dimensional player. He's a poor man's Deion Sanders. Charles Woodson is the most complete defensive back in the league and has been since Rod Woodson retired. Stop listening to Phil Simms or anyone else on CBS. All of their analysis is terrible.
I don't argue with your baseball analysis. Please have the same courtesy/common sense here.
revis isn't getting those sacks because he's taking on the opponent's best receiver and he isn't getting those tackles because his man isn't catching the ball (or even getting thrown at). woodson is getting all those other numbers bc he's not single covering the game's best receivers day in and day out.
Just because Fitzgerald put up some numbers against Woodson doesn't mean much.
Fitzgerald is uncoverable 1-on-1.
Sacks? The disparity in sacks illustrates the defensive play-calling tendencies of the two teams and nothing else. Tackles? Forced Fumbles? No one is catching the goddamn ball against Revis to begin with, so he isn't tackling anybody or stripping any balls.
You're not this stupid, Yoshi.
Revis was amazing. He shut down the other team's best receiver every single game. Speaking of one dimensional, he made the other team one dimensional.
Although Woodson has a monster year as well, it is a toss up between the two.
woodson is the natural choice of people who don't pay attention to anything but the flashiest stats, like sportswriters
