2009 NFL Season Thread of WOO PLAYOFFS!

weeMan: Honestly it was one of the best games I've seen in ages, not just b/c it was the Texans coming out ontop either, but the high scoring, the drama, the fights and both teams looking pissed as hell - made for quality entertainment. As far as being a fan of the Texans however, we needed this win more than anything... one week after our worst loss in franchise history (imo), we rebound back with what may be our finest three hours (next to beating the cowboys in our debut season opener - natch). Both teams played tough, but I was extremely impressed by the Texans resiliency today, being down 21-7 and then scoring 17 unanswered. When it was tied at 31 I thought that we'd somehow find a way to lose... but then somehow, incredibly we pulled off the win, against a tough team on the road. Nearly brought a tear to my eye.


Giants FG over Dallas x 2 for the win DID bring a tear to my eye. Good times. roflburger on Jerry Ratface Jones... I so wanted to see someone piss on his parade tonight.

Good week for Texans fans. The Pats lost showing that those Jets are srs business (oh and those Titans got to play them next Sunday), particularly their O-Line and Defense, that Sanchez guy might be something too. The Cowboys lost, which is never a bad thing. Jax lost, which was probably to be expected and the Steelers lost to the LOLBears, rubbing more salt in that Titan wound (IMO). Now if Miami can pull of the upset at Indy, it'll be the best week in football evar.

No disrespect to weeman, but the more the Titans lose, the better. Hope it learns them for using Oiler throwbacks (also, it would probably be best if KC didn't use Dallas Texans throwbacks every so often either). Looking forward, the Titans have a bit to worry about. The Jets pose a serious threat to them going down 0 - 3.

The Titans pass defense has been horrible thus far.

They still had no interior pass rush at all this week, and the secondary just continues to get exposed as people finally are realizing that the reason they looked so good last year was because of the Titans' beastly 4-man pass rush.

Some of the blown coverages in that Texans game were ridiculous. I still can't understand the one where two guys let Andre Johnson get 10-yards behind them before realizing they needed to turn and run with him.

Jason Garret's play calling is abysmal. That game would have been over if he had run on the drive when it was 24-20. They went 88 yards without completing a pass on the prior drive, so what does that pass happy makak do? Lets Romo air it out, inevitably throwing a terrible pick to a deep safety.

That game was all on Romo who proved, yet again, that he just can't deal with a big game. He made more mistakes then everyone else on the field combined. The Giants had no business winning that game.

I agree, but proper play calling would have taken it out of Romo's hands.

I can't begin to describe how much I hate having Brett Favre, Jr. on my team. The difference is that with the Dallas defense and running game, Romo will rarely need to win a game. He just needs to stop losing them, and that is on the coaches as much as him.

edit: Anyone who doubts me on this and doesn't play in our fantasy league should know that I traded him away this offseason, because I was tired of him tanking two of my teams in December.

I sure am glad the Cowboys passed on Brees and then traded out of the round to take Quincy Carter!

Speaking of black QBs, and I was only by the most liberal definition, I heard Warren Moon on Sporting News Radio yesterday. The Cowboys should give him a look. He's like 70, but he knows what a deep safety looks like and can hand off to the three headed monster.

Yeah, Tony stunk it up, but there was just too many weird things happening on the field. You have the ball bouncing off of Witten's shoe and into the Giants player's hands. You have the tipped pass that still makes it to the Giants reciever. The bobbled endzone catch that lands right in the chest of the Giants reciever, as he lay on his back. And the strange fumble by Felix Jones.

It was as if someone had a collection of vodoo dolls (Jessica Simpson?) and they were taking it out on the Cowboys. Even Barber had a strange muscle twinge just yards away from the endzone.

The Cowboys just weren't meant to win this game.

I've been walking around saying this all day. I STILL don't understand how they let Romo throw the ball, they were crushing the Giants on the ground.

Romo sucks.

I was at the game, and this is absolutely true. I don't know what it looked like on tv, but the interception Romo threw to the deep saftey was unbelieveable. The safety was right in front of Romo. I don't know how he didn't see him. I mean that literally. I truly don't know how he couldn't have seen him. Unless he did see him, and just said fuck it, I'm thowing it anyway. It was terrible. Worst play of the game. I know there were many other bad plays in the game, but the Cowboys were up 24-20 at this point and had just forced the Giants to punt to get the ball back. They were at midfield, and it looked like they were going to go down and score again. Romo throws an interception, and the Giants go right down the field and score a touchdown. It was deflating.

Still had a great time though. Stadium is nice.
