#1 defence in the NFL. #3 in scoring. #1 WR. Two RBs in the top 13.
Nothing impressive though.

I will say that it is early yet, and that NO stuff could turn to vapors very quickly (tis the Saints habit), but watching the Giants, they've got an admirable defense and an offence that is shaping up very nicely. However! That Schedule so far hasn't left me anything to be impressed by. Washington Is Not Good. Period. Dallas gave that game away. I remember when the Texans were playing Brett Favre Packers several years back and Favre threw 4 INTs and the game was close (no TOs on the other side) and all I could think was how bad the Texans were. The Giants won that contest, but with that TO ratio, they should have dominated, it came down to the last second. They cruised on Tampa, but Tampa is horrible, and lets not start thinking that a W against KC is anything to brag about. The NFC East is not the "Beast," people call it. It's just the most popular (or at least most vocal) division in all of football. The Giants are very good. They're not Saints good, not this year. Brees is tearing it up, they're as legit as it gets. Their D is very very solid and there are little questions about New Orleans' strength. Eli is a very solid QB, their young WRs are shaping up (result of a good OL and QB?) and the running game looks solid but the fact remains - they look good, but untested. If they were to play next week, I would pick the Saints on a 10pt spread. Seriously. In the playoffs however - I would expect to see them crumble, whereas I expect (due to past example) the Giants to step up.
Just like how the Giants were gross underdogs behind the Pats in 07. Yeah. The Saints are kinda like the 07 Pats. Except no one should expect the Saints to win a post season game until they do (when was the last time they did?)
Man I just watched the Texans wax the Raiders hardcore. Trust me they look good.
I call bullshit. People will constantly count the Jets out, but I don't. Thats a serious team that got bamboozled this week (by the best team in the NFL). If NYG is up there, so is SF. So are the Vikes. More so I would say. There's a lot more out there, and honestly - you're talking out of your ass. Any given Sunday, most teams can pull it out but there's a lot more than four who are good to go against anyone.Quote:
Really though, the NFL sucks outside of IND-BAL-NYG-NO
Being kings of the NFC East means they're better than a HUGELY under achieving Dallas team (with that amazing fuck-up Romo taking play calls from that amazing fuck-up Garret), the Eagles with injuries and coaching problems to spare and the LOLREDSKINS. Really Big Deal. I'd say the AFC South was tougher if the Titans weren't stinking it up as bad as they are (it feels good to say that, honestly). I don't know how many fucking posts I might have to make but really - the Giants are good. Pretty darn good, but they are not amazing. They've played no one good (unless you count the Cowboys... will you call them good? Now?). I have confidence they will win their division, but they won't be anything BUT underdogs if they have to play the Saints.
Dear guy who invented the bye week,
May you have overcooked steak and slow internet connections for the rest of your hopefully miserable life. You have ruined my entire week once again, you asshole.
Die in a fire,
Cheebs
A fun thing to watch this season is what I'll call "The Biggest Loser". Clearly it was Detroit coming into the season. They kept it for two weeks then beat Washington. Then Washington beat Tampa, so they are the current winner of this dubious honor.
2008: Detroit
Week 1: Detroit
Week 2: Detroit
Week 3: Washington
Week 4: Tampa Bay
Week 5: ???
Wut, Saints played the Bills and Lions, who aren't worldbeaters by any stretch, the Eagles(first post-McNabb game), and a pretty good Jets team, who had a shitty day.
You're severely underestimating the cowboys(who mind you were opening up their BRAND NEW stadium that night), and I don't think you realize that the Giants are a walking wounded team, right now. They were without 2/4 cornerback, their wlb's first game of the season, etc.. so they just played a deep cover 2 all night that game(giving up the run all day, not their fault Garrett's an idiot).
My fantasy team confirms that Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw, and Steve Smith are legit. I have the correct Manning though, so I won't comment on Eli.
