I won't disagree with you about dumb people having college degrees but usually you have to have quite the brain for math for an engineering degree. Some people just rub off the wrong way or lack interest or motivation in learning certain subjects. In certain situations when I have to talk to people I have trouble speaking (as in, forming coherant words and finishing phrases/sentences) but it's not because I don't know how to talk. Of course, I don't know the guy you're talking about but Cheeks on the other hand (for all the stupid shit he says sometimes) is really intelligent but just comes off the wrong way on the forum.

In terms of college, I spent a semester there and didn't have the money for the next semester and never found my way back. Sometimes I wish I went right out of high school and had finished college and was working some stupid white collar job now. When I really think about it, the amount of money I make right now really has nothing to do with any of my problems.

the only two symptoms on there I know I have are:

Delay in learning to speak

Reversals of letters (b for d) and a reversal of words (saw for was) are typical among children who have dyslexia. Reversals are also common for children age 6 and younger who don't have dyslexia. But with dyslexia, the reversals persist.

and with the second, it is only when typing. but I guess it is pretty bad when typing. When I go fast I put in completely wrong words like their instead of there.

I have a BEDA (Bachelors of Environmental Design in Architecture) from the College of Design at NC State University. I'm starting my Bachelors of Architecture right now at the same school, which will be one more year of school and allows me to actually become a licensed architect. After that I will eventually get a Masters of Architecture or another masters in a related field.

Well the issue is that most larger state schools and community colleges teach rote memorization. Meaning they say "today we'll study chapters 3 and 6, answer questions 10-28, answers are in the back of the book" which isn't worth dick.

You don't learn shit when all the work is done for you.

Places like Michigan, Purdue, MIT, UMASS, and harvard do not employ this method. They fire 10 books a class at you and then test your ability to solve real world problems that aren't even in the book. This is a much better way to go.

PS if you think I really believe TNL bucks the society trend of 20% of the country being further educated out of high school, you're crazy.

There have been books written about the undergrad courses in ivy league schools going easy on students to keep up their prestige. Hell, I personally know seven graduates of the ivy schools right here at work that even say grades are curved. Don't go by what they tell you, champ.

I know i've had classes that used straight textbooks and, the classes that wound up actually being interesting, classes that used no textbooks or unrequired textbooks for only background reading.

I work with nationally published magazines in a company that's run by two guys who earned their first million by 20. I've also written for huge papers in the tri-state area. Most of the people I run into or work with are graduates of Harvard, Columbia, Princeton or Stanford undergrad. Who the fuck are you to say you know my life?

I know at least two people who failed out of OCAD. Sadly, it was quite deserving for two reasons: lack of talent in one instance and lack of effort in the other. A good friend of mine did pass—with flying colours—and now he creates fantastic ads. He worked his butt off, but he was fucking fantastic. He is what comes to mind when I think of OCAD alumni.

While my stint at Community College was short, I can say that I was getting a good education while I was there. My teachers in some courses may not have been the best but a few I met were very educated and willing to give their time to further the course studies. One professor and I would meet up after class on the days I didn't have to work and bullshit for hours about the class material. I'm not saying it was the best, but it was certainly more pure than the education a lot of my college graduate friends have gotten.
