That was beautifully worded.

I don't know if persecution has to involve mortal danger, but it certainly involves more that people on the internet calling you stupid.
What drives me nuts (and this is especially true of Jews) is that they believe that their religion is the correct one which BY SHEER LUCK just so happens to be the one they were born into, despite no exposure to anything else.
I can at least say I've studied dozens of religions in varying degrees of depth and learned from the people that believed in them with an open mind. I did ultimately decide that they aren't true but I fucking put the effort into getting to that place, which seems like more than a lot of people are willing to do.
It makes sense that people don't know squat about their own religion. The whole purpose, after all, is to stick their head in the sand and pretend they're going to live forever. The details are mostly irrelevant.
Noah's Farce never happened you dummies.

Athiests that think their belief system automatically makes them intellectually superior drive me nuts, and ultimately some of them really do seem to be following a dogma and regurgitating shit they heard elsewhere. You get that everywhere I suppose.
Ultimately, if it gets you through the day and it makes you a better person, I'm all for whatever you believe. But when they get all "It's stupid to think the universe could just be" like squall, that's when I get annoyed.
