Bill and Mandy is embarrassing. Spongebob is fine, but please end it in 2003 and stop saturating the fuck out of it. Being obnoxious goes so far.
Or... DOES IT?

neither are you
Please. We're talking about cartoons here.
Its all about early Tom and Jerry imo.
If we're going to include old cartoons, Tom and Jerry is funny stuff. Old Goofy cartoons are soooooooooooo fucking funny too. Goofy quitting cigarettes is amazingly true to life. Oh Walt Disney.
It's so darling and unpretentious and cute and full of truth! How couldn't you like it?Quote:
I have Chunky Rice! I'm sort of on the fence about it though!
I think the first wave of Nicktoons really helped to revitalize TV animation and pull it out of that wasteland it became in the '80s when all we had was garbage like Thundercats and GI Joe. Ren and Stimpy really changed the way a lot of animation was written and concieved, and Rugrats (and later Klasky Csupo stuff like Duckman) was pretty influential too. Sure, Rugrats wore out its welcome being on the air for 10 years (that might be what's happening to Spongebob too) but yeah, the Nicktoons started off good.
I read comics pretty regularly until 13 or so. Then I dropped off because it was too expensive and convoluted to keep up with. Got into anime pretty young and that's grown into an appreciation and love for animation in general. My girlfriend loves Spongebob and I get why people like it, but I don't laugh at any of it.
Been slowly getting back into comics by way of trade paperbacks. I love the fact that I can get something with volume, that covers some sensible arc of story. Right now I've been big on Ultimate Spiderman (before they "reset" it), and Scott Pilgrim, along with single-run stories on Batman (Dark Knight, Hush) and Superman (A Superman for All Seasons).
