Outrun 2 is head and shoulders above any other version. Almost looks as good as the XBLA port, plays better (imo), and the way the content is handled is much better than C2C. It does suffer a little slow down on the 360 though, which is a shame.

Chibi Robo: Park Patrol- Always thought the GC Chibi Robo got by on quirky NPCs and scale of it's surroundings...which wouldn't translate to a DS rev. Shockingly it's pretty fun. The graphics are decent, touch controls are acceptable, and the entire thing is disturbingly upbeat.
Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume-Credit Tri-Ace for trying something different but the whole flow of the game bugs me, seems like you rely too much on group attacks.
We should probably move onto a winter thread, but anyway...
Two UE3 RPGs
I'm playing The Last Remnant thanks to the $10 Steam deal. It's pretty good. The plot seems like a big bag of stupid so far but the combat system is really interesting and complex. I'm also replaying Mass Effect on PC. I want to finish both a Renegade run and a redone Paragon by the time the sequel comes out.
The Club
A brief discussion about this game on #tnl a day or so ago inspired me to pull it out again. I'm once again addicted to its unique blend of complex scoring and third-person shooting.
You know what I am not playing? Castlevania the Fucking WiiVaporWare Adventure.
Playing way too much Torchlight, and Street Fighter 4.
About to start Mass Effect on 360.
Also MGS Portable Ops - So far not digging it :(
I'm still playing Spirit Tracks and Little King's Story but besides that I'm on a bit of stealth kick. I played a few levels into Velvet Assassin. I like it but it's a lot like Wii Tenchu in that it's very methodical and linear. There's so little margin for error, make a simple false move and your dead. It reminded me that I own Thief: Deadly Shadows which is a superior and less cruel stealth game. I wasn't happy with the way it ran on my previous PC so I had been saving playing through it. Finally, I can enjoy it properly.
I'm having fun in Red Faction Guerilla. Hacking shit with an axe and destroying billboards is fun!
GOW Collection is also getting some playtime, and I need to finish Uncharted 2 (!).
Since vacation started, I'm thinking of finally getting around to finishing Lost Odyssey or starting Tales of Vesperia.
If I can get my hands on a N64 I'll be playng this.
started playing etrian odyssey again. just got down to the 27th floor. i'm really in the mood to pick up eo2 now since it looks like eo3 will have all new classes. i'm sure it'll take me about 2 1/2 years to beat that one as well.
Nearing the end of Final Fantasy IV on the GBA.
Active battle glitches aside, it really is a wonderful game. The story and soundtrack are top-notch compared to the other games I've played in the genre.
I'd be pissed at the encounter rate, but the ability to run from most battles makes it negligible.
Makes me want to track down a copy of FF VI next.
FFIV, V, VI are the best thing going on the GBA
No.~ Drill Dozer ~
is, but some people really like that Ninja 5-0.
Completely agree! The characters are ugly, but otherwise not bad at all!Quote:

Super Turrican 2 (SNES) : Going for a 1CC on Hard. IMO it's great, but in some ways not quite as good as the first.
ESWAT (Genesis) : All cleared with one continue. It shouldn't be hard to 1CC soon.
B.O.B. (SNES) : Kind of a speedrun platformer where most of your points come from finishing the stages quickly. It's decent. The Genesis version pales in comparison graphically.
Mushihimesama Futari (360)
Razing Storm (arcade) : Still stuck around that 3.2 million mark for now.
Going through Final Fantasy 13 now. It begins with maybe the most ridiculous depiction of battle ever--like some peaceful alien race that had never actually seen a gun before made a war movie--and the dialog throughout is kind of lame. But it's really grown on me and I'm really into it now.
It's ridiculously beautiful, the music is consistently great, it channels FF7 pretty hardcore setting and character-wise, and it actually takes many big progressive steps with the whole J-RPG genre... but I think the gameplay changes are going to piss a lot of people off. Not that I care, people bitched about FFXII and that game was a near masterpiece. But this game definitely takes almost the exact opposite approach of that game in many ways.
The whole thing is super streamlined--10 hours in and I still haven't come to a map that has a single branching path, you regain all of your health after every battle, there are no towns and no world map (this may still change), you do shopping through save points "online" which are dispersed like every 50 feet....etc.
But it actually works really well! It's a JRPG with all the fat cut, and honestly that's not a bad thing. And it's actually challenging in a way that demands strategy and not grinding. And it is seriously ridiculously beautiful. And it has a baby chocobo that lives in an afro.
Not bad Square. I was preparing to not be able to get into this, as with FF10, but this is a nice surprise. Some of the changes make more sense than others, and I think there were some retarded decisions made. But at least you can't blame them for repeating the same formula over and over.
Wolfenstein (360, "Bring 'em on" difficulty) : I went around using a sledgehammer on all the enemies in the warehouse until I had the codebook. After that, they got a bit too numerous - and it was MP40 time. There's a whole lot of trashing to do in this one. Come up to a Nazi truck with the sledgehammer, flatten its tires, bash in the windshield, and knock off the doors and the tailgate. LOL.
Modern Warfare 2 (360, Hardened difficulty) : I've just completed "Of Their Own Accord". For now I haven't really bothered looking for the Intel items.
These were bought with $100 in GameStop gift cards that I had gotten for Christmas. Darius Burst should be coming tomorrow from NCSX.
Started Mass Effect on PC, since our 360 wont play the fucking disk.
Also, almost done with 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand - That game is insane, in all of a good sense.
MX vs. ATV: Reflex and NSMB Wii - the latter is awesome, but is slightly hurt by the lack of real-time item dropping like the DS incarnation while the former is a bit glitchy, has a control setup that takes too much time to get used to AND features texture drops that make the environments look N64-level.
Torchlight. Four hours in about and I'm rapidly losing my interest. Even on very hard, I'm only dying when I'm distracted because some enemies can kill you almost instantly. The massive amounts of loot only bring bigger numbers, counteracted against the tougher foes. I expected a lack of story, but I don't think I can play games this uniform anymore, without something to mix up this grind. Oh well. It was only $5.
Yeah, it's more shallow than I had initially imagined but I do feel like I got my money's worth at $10. It's a lot more fun to play in small doses.
Brave Story
After I beat God of War, I was still in a PSP mood, so I finally started playing this. Only about ten hours into it, but I like it. I get a sorta Grandia vibe from the dialog and character personalities. I wish the combat was on par with Grandia though...mostly kinda boring keep hitting X stuff.
