The Rush games may have been much faster than the Genesis Sonics, but they actually did a really excellent job of delivering a well-balanced challenge within that, and the speed play is actually really deep. It's not a Sonic Advance 2 situation where it was just this "hold right, win" experience.
Not that I want these to play like Rush as far as mechanics go, but I think Rush's level designers had a better grasp of flow and level design than anyone to work on the series since Yasuhara.
It has been a while but I remember Sonic Pocket Adventure being better than any 2d Sonic since.
The NGPC one? It was well done.
More color damnit.
Sonic games should look like harpooned f'in rainbow hemorrhaging all over.
I think this one is on in terms of design, but not process. I just don't like the plasticky pre-rendered look.
I just don't like 2.5D. Hand-drawn graphics will never, ever be replicated with polygons. That said, I am going to continue to support console games with 2D gameplay, so I am buying this.
Oh? Did you buy 'Splosion Man?
Yes, bitch. I am delinquent on A Boy and His Blob though.
