Long story short, I got pulled over this weekend doing 63 in a 45. It wasn't until the girlfriend pointed out the date of last known calibration to me that got me thinking about this. Several of her cop friends said that in PA a state troopers radar device must be calibrated every three months. The date on my citation is 4-20-09. More than three months ago. I've tried googleing some info but havn't come across anything yet.
Anybody have any info?

It sounds like he got clocked but is trying to get out of it on a technicality, that of the gun not being calibrated. I don't know if a gun's margin of error can be argued as 18 mph over actual.
Usually you'll have to talk to the DA. I know in Jersey a friend got off compeltely over something similar, IE the gun hadn't been calibrated for 6+ months.
In Jersey you can talk to the prosecutor and they will plead you to a lower no point traffic offense. You can only do it two times a year.
This belongs in the thread about how our legal system is broken. Pay your fucking fine and stop wasting other people's tax money.
