Hopefully, for your sake, to the orthopedist.
There are some shitty posters talking you out of some good games.Quote:
I have you guys, Drunken Gamers Radio, and jaded shmups forum to thank for that. You've talked me out of Bioshock, Grand Theft 4, Assassin's Creed, Battlefield, every Halo, and tons of other games I woulda dropped cash on until I searched the knowledge.
No I think he's doing the whole "nothing is any good if other people like it" thing. Fight that power!
Just play whatever is on my list of games. My taste is impeccable. :)
Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but if you're in co-op, one player can hit the A button at any time to activate the bubble (same bubble that you respawn with after dying). So, if you're about to fall into a pit or are way behind the other player and are likely going to be crushed due to scrolling off the stage or whatever, just hit A to fly across the screen toward the other player. Not sure if this is common knowledge, but we never bothered to read the manual and didn't figure this out until world 7. Makes vertical fortress levels somewhat less impossible in co-op!
Of course, if every player activates the bubble at the same time, then you get kicked back to the map and lose all your power-ups. Basically the same thing as dying, only without the actual loss of a life.
Anyway, we finished our co-op run tonight and 100%ed the whole thing, secret levels and all. World 8-7 is amazing with 4 players, and hatless Mario (99 lives bonus) is class.
awww c'mon man. That's not fair. All them threads are peppered with criticisms. I just pay attention to those things. We're after different things in the gaming, Bacon. Different things.
If it makes you feel better, you guys didn't talk me out of Metal Gears, Trauma Centers, Panzer Dragoons, Dead Space, and I bought 'Splosion Man 'cause of you guys. I still got myself suckered with SoulCalibur 4. Sheeeit, I'm even giving Arkham Asylum a chance after figuring out I should crank the game straight to Hard for your first run. I died a few times, and it was fair and good.
So anybody unlock a hard mode on this Mario thing? Or is it just about star coins again?
If a kid finds this game hard, isn't that what we were all bitching about a lack of in this generation of kids games? I understand that if it's hard enough, a kid may never come back to it, but we were all raised under the pretenses of less forgiving games and stuck with it. Sometimes I wonder if younger generations really are getting as coddled as we believe, thus justifying our further indulgences of them, or if we don't give kids enough credit...
But yeah, A-button FTW. Girlfriend couldn't figure out why I was offended when she recommended I use it:
"But then you won't die!"
"No, it's like cheating"
"Are you taking this seriously?"
"No...I just don't like to cheat."
